Cristina (Carmen Sevilla) is a good secretary who looks out for her chief's (Antonio Casal) interests even more than he does. Cristina has another employee at the company, the charming Lorenzo (Tony Leblanc), as her boyfriend, but she's not sure she wants to commit to him. She helped him on a management project with a Dutch businessman who arrives in Madrid to sign an important tomato export contract. Mr. Van Wagen (Frank Latimore) dedicated to importing tomatoes thinks Cristina is the boss's wife and becomes fascinated with her. The chief tries to convince her that the Dutchman is a good suitor for her, but Cristina still has her eyes on Lorenzo. However, the latter, very jealous, will be very careful that the Dutchman doesn't steal his girlfriend; along the way, Cristina hesitates between the foreigner and Lorenzo, her close office colleague.

A fun comedy produced and directed by Ignacio F. Iquino with his company I. F. I, containing agreeable messes, romances, songs, dances and humor. Ignacio F. Iquino directs this film that has nothing special but is pleasant to watch thanks to its fabulous Spanish actors of the Fifties, the highest grossing of the time. Stars the recently deceased Carmen Sevilla, she was born in 1930 in Seville; the popular Spanish entertainer Carmen is better regarded as a dancer and singer than for her output of films, most of them, especially her later ones, seldom testing her abilities. Starting very young, she made her movie debut in grand style with the musical Jalisco Sings In Seville (1948) and participated in other popular films of the 1950s including Andalousie (1951), Love and Desire (1952) Imperial Violets (1952), The Beautiful One of Cadiz (1953), Don Juan (1956) and as a fiery, chest-heaving Kate in The Taming of the Shrew (1956). Her rare work in Hollywood included the role of Mary Magdalene in the epic film King of Kings (1962). She also played Octavia in Charlton Heston's version of Antony and Cleopatra (1972). In 'Secretaria para todo' Carmen Sevilla' was at her peak and extreme splendor.
The cast is completed by Antonio Casal (La tonta del bote), and Tony Leblanc (Los tramposos, Tres Suecas para tres Rodriguez), with whom Carmen Sevilla would work again on subsequent occasions. Adding the American Frank Latimore as the Dutch entrepeneur who's tremendously fond of topics such as sun and flamenco, arriving in Madrid determined to marry a Spanish woman, very similar to Cristina, although she hesitates between the foreigner and Lorenzo, her close office colleague. And, of course, the familiar faces of the spanish cinema, such as: Antonio Garisa, Trini Alonso, Antonio Riquelme, Carmen de Lirio, Alfonso Rojas, Rufino Inglés, Vicky Lagos, among others.
The motion picture was professional but regularly directed by prolific filmmaker Ignacio F Iquino , who often used pseudonym Steve McCoy . He has been considered the Spanish Roger Corman and the "godfather" of a new generation of Catalan filmmakers since 1950s to 1980s, like directors José Antonio de la Loma, Juan Bosch, or the next Catalan filmmakers from 1980 Ferran Llagostera or Ignasi P. Ferré, and further directors and technicians. However, Iquino is considered to be one of the worst filmmakers of Spanish film history . He wrote , directed and produced lots of films by means of his production company : ¨I. F. I.¨ that financed lots of Spaghetti/Paella Westerns such as : ¨Oeste Nevada Joe¨ , ¨Ninguno De Los Tres Llamaba Trinidad¨, ¨La Diligencia De Condenados¨, ¨Fabulosos De Trinidad¨, ¨20 Pasos a Muerte¨ , ¨Dólar a Fuego¨, ¨Abre Tu Fosa Llega Sabata¨ , and ¨5 Pistolas De Texas¨ . Most of them starred by Richard Harrison , Jorge Martin or George Martin , Luis Davila , Daniel Martin or Robert Woods . Iquino was a Spanish craftsman , writing and directing ; working from the 40s in all kind of genres and B movies until the late 80s . Nevertheles, he also directed acceptable films as ¨Historia De Una Escalera¨ based on Antonio Buero Vallejo's novel , ¨El Judas¨, ¨Angeles Al Volante¨, ¨Tambor Del Bruch¨ and ¨Brigada Criminal¨ at his best . Rating: 4.5/10. An uneven but acceptable , only for hardcore enthusiasts of the Spanish cinema, and , of course, for Carmen Sevilla/Tony Leblanc fans.
