The film was released in the VHS and DVD formats in 2001 and was distributed by Something Weird Video. The DVD edition of the film was sold as a double feature with another William Grefe film, Death Curse of Tartu.
Sting of Death was released 17 October 1966 on the drive-in circuit by regional distributor Thunderbird Pictures on a double-bill with Grefé's torpid Death Curse of Tartu.
Doug Hobart who plays the Jellyfish Man Monster also plays the part of the dead body in the sheriff's boat.
