Muggs Maloney: Whadda YOU guys know about horse racin'?
Danny Dolan: I seen 'em once... in a news real.
Muggs Maloney: Well, they don't call horses "ponies."
Danny Dolan: No? My uncle's a bookie, ain't he? Well, he calls 'em ponies.
Muggs Maloney: Well, he's all wet, see? They call 'em geldin's 'n' fillies and maybe stuff like that.
Danny Dolan: Go on! Phillies is a baseball team!

Scruno: What's 'e matter, Ben? You worried?
Ben: Oh, go no, go on, go on...
Scruno: Wait a minute. Don't go brushin' ME off, now, 'cause you got a funny look in your face.
Ben: Oh, go along. My face ain't no different than day it was yesterday.

Muggs Maloney: Guys up at Sing-Sing got more freedom den I got. I haven't left this track in days. All I've been hearin' is horses and seein' horse. It's a wonder I ain't eatin' hay and neighin'.

Danny Dolan: Muggs ain't yella.
Horse Trainer Morgan: I know it, but he's afraid. Afraid of that horse. Afraid of speed.
Danny Dolan: Oh, I'm scared o' things, too. I mean, like... like bein' on a high place.
Horse Trainer Morgan: Everybody has some fear. Fear of snakes. Fear of fires. Some people are afraid of losing their jobs or of growing old.
Danny Dolan: Den... den you mean dere ain't no disgrace in bein' scared.
Horse Trainer Morgan: It's only disgraceful if you fail to fight your fear. Muggs has been fighting but he can't lick it. He's not a jockey, and he never will be.

Knuckles Dolan: Jockey yourselves over to your old stable hangout. That'll get ya horsey enough.

Louise: It must be the machine age we're living in. Trucks are driven and owned by horses now.

Muggs Maloney: Why don't ya hit me? Don't just stand dere doin' nuttin'! Bear me!

Danny Dolan: Whadda ya gonna do, taking riding lessons by mail? Step right up, folks! Learn to be a jockey in ten easy lessons! They laughed when he sat down! They laughed harder when he FELL down!

Scruno: How can a horse play baseball?
Danny Dolan: [southern accent] Hush your mouth, boy. Go saddle my philly and bring him out hyere.
Scruno: [with a British accent] Vedy good, sir. Right away, sir.
