  • Hop Harrigan (William Bakewell) and his pal "Tank" Tinker (Sumner Getchell) operate a small airport and flying service, and are hired by J. Westly Arnold (Emmett Vogan) to fly an eccentric inventor, Dr. Tabor (John Merton), to his secret laboratory where he has a revolutionary new power unit. However, a mysterious character known as the Chief Pilot is interested in the invention and uses a destroying ray to cripple Hop's airplane and kidnap Tabor. Hop and "Tank", aided by Gail Nolan (Jennifer Holt and her younger brother, Jackie (Robert 'Buzz' Henry), finally overcome the villains - and, then, Tabor goes mad and decides to blow up the world.   • Chapter One A MAD MISSION - Hop Harrigan (William Bakewell) and his pal Tank Tinker (Sumner Getchell) operate a small airfield on land leased from Gail Norton (Jennifer Holt) and her kid brother Jackie (Robert Buzz Henry,) When Hop saves the life of J. Westly Arnold (Emmett Vogan)Arnold hires him to fly an eccentric inventor, Dr. Tobor (John Merton), to his secret laboratory. There, Dr. Tobar has a sensational new motor which he claims to be superior in source of power to atomic angry.But another faction, headed by a mysterious character called the Chief Pilot, is also interested in the invention. One of its planes tails Hop, but he eludes it by daring flying. Nearing their destination, Hop and Tank are compelled by Tobor to be blind-folded because he wants to keep his hideaway secret. Hop stays at the controls and gets navigational instructions from Tobar. The latter has Hop fly straight for a mountain peak. Tank partially removes his blindfold, then gasps as he sees only a rocky wall ahead. He yells a warning, but the plane continues roaring on toward the mountain.   • Chapter Two THE SECRET PLAY - Hop removes his blindfold and banks his plane just in time. They land safely and are escorted into the side of a mountain by Tobor where the lab is hidden. They see the power plant and also meet Dr. Tobor's assistant, Retner. On the return flight, they are intercepted by a destroying ray thrown up the the Chief Pilot's henchmen. Tobor accuses Hop of leading him into a trap; then, while they struggle to control the plain, Tobor liberates a gas bomb in the plane cabin and parachutes out.
