A remake of one of the great comedies of the 1930s - Los enredos de una dama (1936) with Jean Harlow, William Powell, Myrna Loy, and Spencer Tracy.
This film was a big hit at the box office, earning MGM a profit of $1,779,000 ($27.6M in 2023) according to studio records.
Van Johnson worked with Lucille Ball several more times. He guest-starred as himself on Yo amo a Lucy (1951), and he co-starred with her in Los tuyos, los míos y los nuestros (1968).
Lucille Ball borrows one of Samuel Goldwyn's malapropisms when she says, "Include me out!" after Keenan Wynn tries to convince her to have a sham wedding with Van Johnson.
The duck hunting sequence with Van Johnson was written and directed by Buster Keaton and Edward Sedgwick.
Fidel Castro: Early in the film, at the lower left of the screen, Castro (without the beard) is seen as a poolside spectator with a drink in front of him. The dictator-to-be did some work as an extra for MGM before becoming fully active in politics.
