Inge Landgut, who played Pony Hütchen in this movie, later became the German dubbing voice of Miss Ellie Ewing on Dallas (1978).
In 1934 Erich Kästner released the sequel to the book "Emil und die Detektive", called "Emil und die drei Zwillinge" (Emil and the three twins), where Emil and some of his friends spend the holiday in the fictitious town Korlsbüttel at the Baltic Sea in the house that was inherited by the Professor. This movie was mentioned there a few times (The Professor wrote Emil: A few months ago, shortly after my heritage the Emil movie was filmed here in Berlin. I saw it. It is a bit strange when a realistic story suddenly becomes a movie. It is very similar but still very, very different). Also Emil and his friends sell tickets for this movie to help the acrobat trio "The three Byrons" (the title's' "three twins") to remain together. And later they even attend the premiere in Korlsbüttel and meet the cast of this movie.
