The Wild Hyacinth that drove Curly crazy is a real fragrance made from the plant of the same name. There was a perfume created in the early 1800's named Wild Hyacinth Floris, but the production Is now discontinued. However, Wild Hyacinth fragrances can be purchased as a perfume, oil or cologne for men.

Two men with clubs/bats walking the rail yard confront the Stooges, who were riding and hiding in a railroad boxcar, once the trainstopped. Although not stated, these men were "yard bulls", employed by the railroad to find and remove hobos, tramps, vagrants, and others who would trespass on railcars, riding from location to location the trespassers would often commit theft from the trains or damage railroad property.
