Marion Davies impersonates movie stars Mae Murray, Pola Negri, and Lillian Gish in an attempt to gain the attention of Lawrence Gray.
This was actually Marie Dressler's turnaround film. After having quite a slump in her career, Dressler was apparently having her last meal at a restaurant before killing herself [Note: her contemplating suicide might be a rumor; other sources state she was considering becoming a housekeeper at a Long Island estate.], when Allan Dwan, who was sitting at a nearby table, ended up offering her the role for King Vidor that night. The movie was a success, and Dressler's career skyrocketed again.
Pat (Marion Davies) is supposed to be the younger sister of Grace (Jane Winton). In reality, Davies was seven years older than Winton.
Tony's car is a 1927 Buick Standard Six coupe. The Harrington's car is a 1927 Chevrolet Capitol.
Marion Davies wears flats or low heels throughout the film while Marie Dressler and Jane Winton wear heels. This furthers the impression of Davies as the kid sister.
