Morpheus Mike rescues a woman's clothing from a goat. The woman cooks him a chicken as a reward, but the goat eats that. Still hungry, Mike falls asleep and has a weird dream.
Willis H. O'Brien didn't invent stop-motion animation. This wasn't even his first released film that used the technique. But it's clear he fully understood what could be done with the techniques, given time and money. He could create a three-dimensional world utterly unlike ours, full of fantasy and wonder, from elephants cooking soup to King Kong.
Alas, the technique is no longer used. CGI has replaced it. Yet it rarely achieves the beauty and humor that O'Brien could infuse his work with.
