A hidden gem 'Salt city'.

It's a huge surprise that there is no review about this series on IMDB.

Gauhar khan did well and looks so pretty OMG. Divyendu ( munna bhaiya) really lost in that series. He looks like some other teenage actor. It's a complement. Piyush mishra as usual good performer. Jayant sarkar and whole cast did a good job. Only bad thing is that there is no climax. You started enjoying the presence, suddenly 7th episode came and director told them Packup. Story is a bit complicated, not for all, but give it a chance. You'll not regret. Expecting next season. Hope so..

Just don't waste any data on this

I have no cliue what the story was or what the different character arcs were. I mean the only thing worth seeing in the entire show is Divyendu. People like Piyush Mishra and Nigar Khan have no path on the show. The script is wafer thin, the acting is pathetic and if you are hoping to see any moral at the end of the show, I don't think you should dare to see this. Almost all the threads are left unanswered. There is a twist that comes at the end of the show but by then it was like why did you have to make all these episodes if this is what you were aiming for. On the whole, it is disheartening to see a show that wasted producer's money, actor's credibility, and my time.

An underrated show that is real and raw

Salt City delves into the story of the Bajpai family and the complexities of familial relationships, juxtaposing each character and their struggles to the landscape of bambayi, meri jaan. Credit to the director for casting Gauahar, Piyush ji and Divyenndu (even Pranay) and making their performance fresh and engaging. Nivedita's character is powerful, inspiring and flawed like so many of the other characters which makes the set up real and raw.

The series leaves you wanting more. Hope season 2 delves deeper, and shows how the family overcomes the conflict that comes to the surface in the finale episode.

Salt City: A Painful Portrait of Bitterness

"Salt City" attempts to delve into the murky waters of familial bitterness through the lens of the Bajpai family, a clan defined by their shared resentments and unresolved conflicts. While the show's ambition to explore the corrosive effects of bitterness is admirable, it ultimately falls short, offering a viewing experience that is as drab as it is disheartening.

The Bajpai family is portrayed as a deeply embittered unit, with each member grappling with their own personal grievances and unfulfilled expectations. This focus on emotional turmoil is meant to provide depth, but instead, it often feels like a repetitive and monotonous cycle of resentment. The show's unrelenting exploration of bitterness becomes tedious, making it challenging to stay engaged as the family's woes unfold.

One of the primary issues with "Salt City" is its inability to make the pervasive bitterness engaging or dynamic. The narrative is bogged down by its own heaviness, resulting in a show that feels stagnant and slow-moving. The pacing is glacial, with episodes dragging through endless discussions of past hurts and unresolved conflicts that rarely evolve or lead to meaningful resolution.

The dialogue, meant to reflect the simmering tensions within the family, often feels stilted and lackluster. Instead of sharp, impactful exchanges, viewers are treated to a series of repetitive arguments that fail to build on one another or drive the plot forward. This contributes to a sense of monotony that permeates the show, making it a slog to watch rather than an engaging drama.

Visually, "Salt City" mirrors the bleakness of its narrative. The set design and cinematography, while competently executed, lack vibrancy and fail to lift the show's overall drab aesthetic. The Bajpai household is depicted in muted tones that underscore the family's emotional desolation, but this visual style also reinforces the show's overall dullness.

Despite some commendable performances from the cast, who do their best with the material at hand, the show struggles to break free from its own gloom. The actors bring sincerity to their roles, but their efforts are often overshadowed by the monotonous script and slow-moving plot.

In summary, "Salt City" is a show that aims to explore the dark side of familial relationships but gets lost in its own mire of bitterness and stagnation. While it offers an unflinching look at how unresolved grievances can fester, it ultimately delivers a viewing experience that is both painful and dull. If you're looking for a show that combines emotional depth with engaging storytelling, "Salt City" may leave you feeling more exasperated than enlightened.
