Being Leonardo Da Vinci

I've watched the movie recently during a screening at UCLA and I was impressed by the care of the details. The part of the interview, where the language is taken from the original Leonardo's manuscripts, is worthy to be seen over and over

I had the opportunity to see the movie in Providence and I literally felt in love with Leonardo and Finazzer Flory's performance. Being Leonardo da Vinci is a perfectly thought movie that offers the opportunity to see and listen the real, original and authentic movements and words of Leonardo (he really acts in renaissance language) and all the places where he lived. Thanks to this beautiful movie I really think that Leonardo is still alive and he lives in all of us. We just need to look for him and Being Leonardo da Vinci definitely helps us to do that.

First of all, Finazzer Flory's portrayal of da Vinci is outstanding and convincing. The film offers a unique take on the Renaissance Genius - definitely off the beaten path of the usual da Vinci documentary or biopic. Flory uses da Vinci's own words garnered from original manuscripts to take us inside his mind and through his thought processes, reasoning, and opinions. It's almost like Flory made the impossible possible for the viewer. It's a film I think you need to see more than once - at least the interview segments - in order to really understand and digest what da Vinci had to say in response to the questions presented to him. Important and impactful because it reveals an entirely new and different aspect of The Genius than we're used to. The film is slow and cerebral, appropriately and on purpose.

I've watched this movie at UCLA. I loved the idea of an impossible interview with Leonardo Da Vinci, plus such a care for the details really lets you dive into the world of the genius. A movie well done with beautiful locations. Finazzer Flory really did a great job, both as a director and as an actor. The performance of Leonardo in this movie, had something that reminds me of Bob Wilson.
