It dawned on me pretty quick that this movie was not just a normal movie, because it had that hidden camera prank thing going on. But once you get into that, then "Bad Trip" is actually a rather enjoyable and funny movie, and I have to say that I was actually genuinely entertained by it.
The movie is starring Eric André, Michaela Conlin, Michaela Conlin and Tiffany Haddish, whom actually put on great performances and definitely carried the movie quite well, making it all the more enjoyable.
While "Bad Trip" was a fun movie, it hardly is a movie that warrants more than just a single viewing. Why? Well, the storyline just doesn't really have enough contents to it to support more than just a single viewing. But if you get the chance to watch director Kitao Sakurai's "Bad Trip" movie, then do so.
I found it to be a funny movie and I had some pretty good and genuine laughs throughout the course of the movie, especially the gorilla scene.
I am rating "Bad Trip" a six out of ten stars.
Any valid criticism would be how they managed to pull off without getting recognised. Even one person recognising and raising their voice can kill the whole shot.
Also comparison with Bruno, Borat is not reasonable as they had social messages at underplay with a specific topic. Here it's just about entertainment only, nothing to reveal about the people or society.
I am believing the whole thing is real. Hidden camera shoots + pre shot scenes of the actors.
The actors have all done a great job. Overall just stupid, great fun. Just switch off your brains and watch.

Chris Carey: That's ridiculous. Okay. watch this. Excuse me, miss?

Chris Carey: Are you a black man?
Zoo Recruiter: No.
Chris Carey: Case in point.
- Créditos curiososThe end credits show moments when extras in pivotal scenes find out that they were part of a film and that absurdity of what they just witnessed was not real. Also deleted scenes and alternate takes of certain scenes are shown throughout the remainder of the credits.
