I don't write reviews for series very often, and definitely not for ones I haven't even finished, but this drama is such an exception for me that I feel like I have to tell everyone I know how much I love it. The action scenes are lit. Everything about this drama is pretty good, be it the story, the characters, the comedy, the direction. A basic rundown: if you're looking for comedy, watch this show. If you're looking for heartfelt characters, watch this show. If you're looking for a gritty cop show with in-depth cases, don't watch this show, watch an OCN drama. I'd tell everyone of you to give it a go...

Started this drama with no expectations but only because it was the highest rated korean drama in 2019.But this was beyond hilarious and amazing ..the perfection in mixing crime ,comedy and ,action and a perfect casting which is so rare in any other korean dramas I have watched ..you shouldnt miss this one ..still rewatch a lot of scenes and the actor who played the priest Kim nam gil is the most charismatic male lead I have ever seen on a korean drama ..

SURELY ONE OF THE BEST AND DEFINITELY THE BEST ACTION-COMEDY SERIES.
I have watched hundreds of TV series and this is absolutely PERFECT and MOST SATISFYING TO WATCH. You'll never be bored in this Kdrama as there is always to look after every episode.
No problem for non-Catholics because it does not focus on religion - the plot and lessons are applicable for everyone no matter where you preference may be.
Must watch especially during this time of pandemic - will definitely entertain and cheer you up! Kudos to all the artists and crew! FANTASTIC JOB!!!! Hoping for a Season 2!

I'm a K-Drama fan because it's mostly clean viewing with no BS agenda like most Hollyweird shows, I've seen hundreds of K-dramas, and The Fiery Priest was such a treat, thoroughly enjoyable. I rewatch it when I feel down and it still lifts my mood.
The story, the cast, the directing, the dialogs, the action scenes, the heartwarming scenes, the goofy scenes, all blending together for such a fun, feel-good feast on the eyes and mind. I've stopped watching so many other dramas that don't reel me in by the end of 1st episode, but I couldn't stop watching this one, and it's so rare when everything in a drama comes together so well, every aspect complements another.
Not one unlikeable cast, even the bad guys are likeable! I especially LOVE charismatic Father Kim, Sister Kim, and baddie Jang Ryong!

The characters are all on point, love the female prosecutor, she is so beautiful and gangster at the same time, the nun, the Priests are so perfectly selected for their roles.
It's starts up serious then somewhere in between becomes comical then serious again. It's all over the place but it is properly put together. I literally rewound certain scenes just to laugh again. First hilarious Korean series I've watched.
Even the bad guy is good to watch you kind of end up liking him cuz he's such a good actor. Big kudos to the scriptwriters You can never guess the direction of the storyline and that is what I like in the South Korean serieses as this makes them more interesting to watch.
Any series with no cursing and no sexual content is 100% to me and this is one of it. Keep soaring high South Korea take over Netflix.

It's a very beautiful series,
I love it.
Let me say one thing: We Muslims believe that Christians are our friends and brothers. In my opinion, in episode 6 of season 2, Kim Hae Il's reaction when the name of the Quran was mentioned was not appropriate. As a Muslim, I was somewhat upset by this reaction.
Kim Hae Il is a very admirable person. He believes in the one God, is a justice-seeking, and is a martial artist and professional warrior. I love Kim Hae Il deeply for these qualities, and she is the most special to me of all the K-drama characters.
I hope that dear Kim Nam-gil will read my comment and know that it is very, very, very admirable to me that he plays the action sequences himself, and that he respects me as a viewer of the series. The action sequences were also incredibly tough and great. May God always keep him healthy.

The story is about a priest who has anger issue and recently transferred to another church. After transfering there, the priest realized, some people are trying to uproot the crunch for their own benefits. Soon, his mentor is found dead and the police closed the case saying '',He commited suicide ''. However, the priest knows his mentor cannot commit suicide as it is considered as sin. He sets out to find the culprits. Will he able to find the culprits?
The angry priest made this drama more watchable. His anger constantly made me laugh. Even his partners a priest, a nun, a female and male police made this hilarious. Their every action scenes turned into comedy. Moreover, the boob cut boy(donno why I loved his hair too much :), delivery man, prosecutor activities are funny. Apart from comedy, every episode has twist in it which are totally unbelievable. Though I enjoyed it wholly, however, it's bit lengthy drama. I guess, it would be better, if it had lesser episodes.

Entertaining and light to watch. But I dont like park kyung sun character. The way she chew her food or her attitude was rather sore to eyes.

In the beginning, the action was solid, the jokes were funny. But like other kdrama, at some point it started to drag. Don't really remember, but maybe around episode 10-19. Then the story escalated on ep 20. Then it dragged again on episode 37-40.
Found my self skipped so many scenes. The action scenes became tiring, the jokes became dull and way too comical. This could have been waaay better if the story wasn't poorly executed.
Love Kim Sung Kyun since "Reply 88" and of course big appreciation to Kim Nam Gil for doing all the action sceness without stunt

I am a fan of kdrama and have probably watched a few hundred series now. Despite being predisposed to give every new series I start every chance to meet the high standard I have learned to expect, this did not do it for me and I gave up after perhaps half a dozen episodes.
Having read the mostly positive reviews on imdb and the viewer score of 8.1, I am left trying to understand why I was not equally enamored?
I guess that the central plot device of a priest who lashes out violently at every opportunity was too jarring. Presumably this would have been less of a problem had I bought into the comedic nature of the piece, but I found it difficult to laugh at a tale of murder and corruption, with public officials abusing their power at every turn.
So - not for me.

I had so much fun watching this series and I can't wait for season 2. the story was meticulously written and the last episodes were incredible. The main character pretty much transformed and I got the same vibe I got from watching The Man From Nowhere. Easily one of the funniest Korean series out there.

Wasn't too sure if I was going to enjoy this after a few episodes but glad I stuck with it! Turned out to be a great action series with a lot of comic and cheesy moments! Very good story line with plenty of righteous and morals scattered around, keeping the theme of a priest who had committed sins in the past found god and always seeking justice for the victims! Acting was generally good, as always with this type of Korean series there are the over acting characters in this case the chief prosecutor and quite a few dim wit characters who I guess intentionally are meant to make you laugh! For the beat part it worked very well, plenty of gangsters and bad guys even mercenaries thrown in for good measure! Lots of action and martial arts with very little gun usage! Overall I thought it was a great watch!

I'm totally in love with this drama. I'm watching it again & again. With my family, my friends & alone
I've watched A lot kdramas but i believe
That it's the best Korean drama that i ever seen!
One of the most usual weakness of kdramas is their Ending. But for 'the fiery priest" it's completely the opposite! It's going better & better till end. And last 2 Ep is wonderful OMG is killing me🔥
Just Go & watch it! You will not regret.

A priest investigates the murder of his mentor, the priest is an ex member of the Korean secret service so knows some moves. An action packed comedy with a small band around the priest getting into conflict with all the corrupt departments in the city who are willing to go to any lengths to protect their illicit schemes. Good characters and entertaining acting all round but they should have reduced the episodes and tightened the script.

Look, I watched almost three and a half episodes of this and I get it, but I just can't get into it.
It's way too long and padded and it's gonna feel more and more draggy, it already felt so anyway. I mean putting an ex special forces guy into a priest's frock and making him fight a large web of corruption mostly with his fists is gonna stop being fun pretty quick cause I know Koreans like their heroes to hurt and be humiliated to an insane extent and I don't have the patience or the appetite for that. It's why I gave up on Bad and Crazy, and I thought that would be the baddest thing ever. And it was, for like a couple of episodes, till that started to drag and get on my nerves too.
I mean I like this priest but there's too much he's up against and basically I only wanna watch him throw punches and beat the bad guys. And they're not letting him do that so I'm gonna stop watching.
As for the prosecutor, well, I don't have patience for her antics either.

I picked this up because it's leaving Netflix so it was a quick watch. I really enjoyed it. Even though the plot isn't that strong the humor carries through. It was entertaining enough and Nam Gil did a great job at playing the anti hero sort of character.

I wasn't able to watch the entire show because i lost interest after 6 episodes so I just watched the end. It might be good because there were good action scenes and it was supposed to be comedy so I guess 5 was ok.

Loved masterwork. I appreciate cast, atmosphere of the series, such a korean style dram and other aspects...
I spent my leisure time with full of enjoy.
Kim Nam Gil's acting performance is onother level. He motivated me so much with such a cool and distinctive character.
Storyline is so addictive that i finished the show so fast than i usually do.
I recommend this series who likes watching interrelated comedy and drama.
Action scenes are fascinating.
Soundtrack is excellent.
I want more k-dramas like this especially with a great cast and an adventurous line.
Well deserved.
Just enjoy.

The film is so funny and also entertaining. The way how religious character turns into the action movie, the characteristics that really different from the actual priest, also how they depicted the other characters is so great and out of the box. But, I think they need improvement for the villain because there's no different like usual villain (not all characters, but the most out of the box villain is Jang Ryeong). The emotion, action, details, maybe some adlibs, it's perfect for me 😆😆😆 I really recommend this movies if any of you want to laugh together with angry. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ From me for this movies.
