No over dramatizing scenes, neatly presented and good set up and pay offs, the routine concept with mentioned above points makes this good watch.

Debutants are good, Music was refreshing, feel feared of vijay sethupathi.

Special Note to the amazing debutant team. Vaishnav Tej and Krithi Shetty absolutely crushed it. They look like very experienced actors. We can clearly see their hard work that they have put into this film. Director Buchi Babu has also done good job for debutant director. Vijay Sethupathi as krithi's father is amazing at his role; this movie has so much more depth only because of his role. DSP Songs and Background Score is the biggest highlight of the movie!! His music will make people come to the theatre!

In Depth Analysis:

1st half: The movie starts off amazing with Vijay Sethupathi and establishing his constant strive to protect his "paruvu." We have seen this in many movies but the way they have shown it in the movie is quiet interesting. Then comes the Hero introduction. It was pretty good and fit for a debutant actor from the MEGA FAMILY. Vaishnav's eyes have this nice glow which makes him have a nice aura around him. The part where Vijay Sethupathi is searching for who krithi's lover is the best part in the whole film. The way the tension rises creates a feeling of tension in our hearts also.

2nd half: At the end of the first half when vijay sethupathi kills Vaishnav's father we will eagerly wait to see what will happen next but this is where the director disappoints. Generally if that situation happens, then Vaishnav is supposed to take revenge on Vijay Sethupathi and some amount of distance should arouse between krithi and vaishnav. Instead the director decides to add a twist which was totally unnecessary.

When krithi and vaishnav run off from vijay instead of revenge vaishnav decides to tell vijay sethupathi where his daughter is and give away her location. That is the dumbest thing ever. The whole revenge aspect is ignored and vaishnav kind of supports the guy who killed his father. All in all even though the screenplay makes practically no sense the climax scene was well executed and krithi's action is exceptionally well and. One can say KRITHI was the main pillar of the movie just for her mind blowing acting.

Overall the movie is a routine story executed very well that deviates itself in the second half; also has amazing performances and is exceptional for a debutant team!

Felt like Watching Sairat with some changes and telugu language Change of climax DSP classic music.

Uppena is a movie which tried to say a very important concept but the way they are showing the film is important. The direction and cinematography is good. But this film lacks screenplay, unwanted scenes songs repeated scenes are disturbing the interesting factors of the movie. The role of Vijay Sethupathi sir is top notch and the portion when he comes is nxt level. So overall uppena is an above average movie with a good message.

The highlight of the movie is VJS characterization as a ruthless casteist and peculiar things he do to uphold his caste prestige. The romantic track between the lead actors is age old and boring in the beginning. But, the movie picks up well in the 2nd half after a crucial fight scene and everything connects. DSPs music and bgm is soulful and engaging.

Uppena

An wild and cenamatic love tale which we missed since the late 2000's . Only after watching this we feel what we missed , the love in the air feel of an non-mobile era , the rustic opposing fathers and carving gilrs , really we should have moves like this now and then.

There is nothing special in this expect for the last 15 minutes ( expect of Vijay Sethupathi, his presence is fresh even in this aga old character) The last twist( so called) which was forshadowed In the first half, is crude in the sense , like which the audience didn't ask for but needed .

The stars are Vijay Sethupathi obviously , krithi Shetty is the best 17 old heroin I have even seen, she is bold and flirty , vaissshnav Tej looks humble , not that bad for his first move but a bit pale beside Vijay Sethupathi and krithi Shetty.

Over all , an ordinary movie with a good dynamic climax ( I don't use a twist because it's forshadowed , only we have to watch properly).

P.S Songs and drone shots( cinematography ) are good , real good.

There's nothing new in the film except the climax. Routine nibba nibbi love story. Performance of every actor is good. Music is enjoyable. Overall a one time watch. Stop calling it a classic.

Routine Love story with extra twist and lover over lust things makes this movie watchable... The cast and making is extraordinary.... The songs are another saving grace for the movie and flow... Worth the watch...

I'm not going to lie,but I had high expectations before I entered the theatre to watch Uppena. Mythri Movie Makers who've given some beautiful films in the past producing this,the amazing songs and most importantly Sukumar's assistant directing,I think it's fair to say I was expecting something better but Uppena tries to get there but it simply can't.

The romance is outdated and the storyline up till the climax is dragged out. The characters seem interesting but they become so involved in their love and you're left wondering if at any point you'd be able to know more about them separately.

Now it doesn't mean Uppena doesn't have its pros. The leads,especially Krithi Shetty do justice to their roles and Vijay Sethupathi as usual is nothing less than perfect. The visuals are pleasing and the music is probably the best thing about this film for me. Some dialogues are well written and so are a couple of scenes.

Now I know that people thought the climax was hard hitting and till an extent it is but by the time the twist comes ahead you've lost interest and have looked at your watch at least 5 times. If only the second half was tighter.

At the end of the day Uppena is like a good swim in the sea spoilt because of the rain.If you want a dose of 2000's romance and can sit through a slow second half,give this film a shot.

The movie was sheer waste of time. Went to movie with lots of expectations but lost intrest in 30min exactly at the point where the heroine gave her tooth brush to hero. It was completely my personal opinion

Most of the crew are Debue and given their best to produce a very feel good romantic movie. Director conveyed Wht he wanted to say about love ! It's awesome performance by actor n actress !

Pack of entertainment and awesome acting of these new thelugu actor and actress. Good story line and it always keeps the curiosity through out the movie. The best thing is that the song "Nee Kannu Neeli Samudram" in the movie. Awesome... treat to watch.. and a must watch.

Not a great movie but creating artificial huge buzzzz or hype on movie. Movie having a strong point or story but failed to present it.

With a Pedictable Tale And Unexpected End in Climax its a routine story vijay sethupati acting was awesome like he does in every movie

This movie was just hyped but had no proper content in it. Story line was average and moreover the first half seemed more like the film color photo in my opinion and second half is where it all changes, it doesn't layout values and morals. Overall, it was an average movie with two good songs and they've to thank vijay sethupathi for saving the movie in the end

I felt this movie is not worth hype it is getting. Now i understood this is completely paid marketing. This movie is misleading the society. False representation of reliegions and cast is added disadvantage.

Right from the pre-production phase to the production and post-production phase, everybody did a quite good role over here. It is absolutely the best telugu film of 2021 to be seen.

Routine old story with some good performances , music and excellent climax .. can watch it once !!

Those, who are aware of a marathi film called sairaat would have noticed that the Uppena filmmaker has taken inspiration concept from that film with a different story. But, this story fails to impress the audience as it over-does the showing of violent scenes and both the male and female lead fail to engage well with audience. Overall, watch this movie - only if you have a lot of free time to kill or you can just skip this one.

YOU May Feel the Movie Story as Routine,, But The Way They Directed and the Heart Touching BGMs will Always Run In Your Mind,, Vijay Sethupathi Acting is In Peaks He had Given Soul to This Movie Emotional Climax,, If You Take The Movie as Serious ,, it Was Simply Superb,, You Will Get Emotional

It is a dissappointment if watched with high expectations.

The most horrible movie you will see, it's full of Propaganda. Movie is about a low caste Christian boy falling in love with a high class Hindu girl and hence 'oppressed' by her father for that reason, and how the movie portrays love wins at the end, can you still see the real picture it wants to paint?

The story though predictable has been carved beautifully with an engrossing screenplay, hard hitting dialogues and melodious music. Firstly, Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupati held his forte with ease till the climax episode. Kriti Shetty performed very well despite being a debutant. Vaishnav Tej actually had no acting scope yet shines in his role. Director Buchi Babu will surely be the one to look out for. His screenplay and dialogues oozed emotion into this predictable storyline. Sukumar should be credited for bringing out the most from vintage Devi Sri Prasad. Those songs were superb. Visuals are grand thanks to the cinematographer. Some scenes in the 2nd half could have been trimmed. On a whole, the movie looked like a canvas with best output from all the departments. I rate it : An above average fare. I loved it.

What a fabulastic film it was. I cant stop watching it multiple times. I fell in love with the characters. I love sangeetha she was so cute and her acting was fabulous. She is the one who every man wants to be in their life.
