Funny movie with subtle jokes. Typically Dutch, in which the communication between characters is very direct, sometimes rude, and with a lot of references to sex. But if you don't mind this movie is entertaining. The story is both funny and tragic: An insecure woman falls in love with a gay man but does not dare to tell him. What I appreciated is that the gay man in the movie is not a stereotype. In fact he is quite masculine. That is refreshing. The emotional parts are not too pathetic. Although the end is unrealistic it leaves you with a smile. Recommended.

This movie is an easy to watch romcom with some Dutch influences. Set in Amsterdam, we get to meet Mo, who hasn't found real love as she pursues a medical career. We get to know her family and her new neighbor, Max. She likes his boyish, laid back lifestyle and the two get along very well. There is clearly some chemistry between Mo and Max. I liked the movie for the clumpsy humor and the pacing, it stayed a bit away from cliches. I wonder if it is as funny for those not Dutch. Some dialogue and scenes felt rushed or could need some improvement, overall it is a suitable movie to watch with your girl.

Please don't go and spend your money on this crap story. Boring. Trying to be all modern and promote atypical relationships.

Not what i would normally watch but it was set in the Hague area of the Netherlands which i know slightly so stuck with it. It is ok, nothing too dramatic happens which is fine. I thought while watching this it would make a good 6 part comedy series, it would need plenty of re-writting and the various characters would need their stories expanded, not sure the actual point of some of them in the film especially the brother. Whilst not laugh out funny there is humor. The acting is fine. The story is somewhat unusual in some ways yet pretty predictable in others. If you just want something pretty undramatic this is a ok watch.

As is often the case with Dutch films, this is a pedestrian, feelgood story of everyday life, its ups and downs, told at an even pace. There is no great drama, no deep thought, no visual fireworks. The characters are sympathetic, the story is speckled with cute moments, and the actors just manage to keep the story moving. It is half-hearted attempt at a quirky romcom, but simply fails to engage the viewer, and one does not really care how the film ends. Actually, with an obligatory party scene with sweeping camera shots of the cheerful cast, freezing into a group portrait.

The acting in this movie is well done, and the story is original. Despite this, the movie is boring. It lacks any connection to the main character. It's not a lovable person, just a regular boring career making woman who's life is just nog interesting to watch. I wish I had not watched this and saved myself the time.

Horrible movie from the beginning till the end.

Appaling plot, soulless nain character and disappointing end. Don't waste your time, you feel this like a fraud. Doesn't make sense and leaves a bitter taste , feeling frauded. There's nothing worst than soulless hostory that doesn't make any sense and leads you to nowhere. You don't learn nothing with this movie but being upset and defrauded. A lonely women with no soul with no romantic purpose, cold as ice. The end was simply ridicolous, beyond words. C'mon. I never been so mad for waist my time with movie. Bad script, bad movie! Dissapointed.
