Our Father's Keeper

I loved this movie so much. What a heartfelt movie. Both the acting and plot were great. However, I felt that Shayla McCaffrey, the teenage girl who helped David (The father) was just amazing. She is such a beautiful, bright light. I look forward to watching more things that she is in. She just made me want to give her a big hug. Loved the dad in the movie also.

Sadly the americans do appear to have a bit of a problem creating a proper film which involves "an Angel". Its almost certain that one does appear in this to take care of "dad" when he finds himself outdoors and surrounded by those great americans NONE of whom are capable of spotting someone (even in very cold snowy conditions) with alzheimers! Whilst there is a couple of good performances within the film but it really doesnt quite qualify for a film with a gospel message.

Very good movie! The acting and plot were both well done. One of the best low-budget movies we've seen lately.

Alzheimer's runs in my family so I am well-versed on what a person with Alzheimer's does, how he behaves, and what he looks like. The presentation of this person with Alzheimer's is way out of line with anything I have ever seen. I stopped watching the movie after he was diagnosed with the disease because I got so turned off with what I was seeing. The writer(s) clearly never met a person who had Alzheimer's.

To do a movie about an alzheimers patient is quite difficult: but his story is touching because of the encounter of David and Christine: the young homeless girl helps him with all she can give: the dialogue between them is a great part of this movie. A dialogue full of tenderness and warmth.

A touching movie with very good performances of Shayla McCaffrey and Craig Lindquist.
