Jungle Cry is an important film that tells us the story of these underdogs comprising of tribal boys who trained for just 4 months to create this miracle.

An inspiring sports drama with brilliant performances by Abhay Deol & Emily Shah streaming on Lionsgate Play. Found this one more engaging than the other recently released sports film Jhund.

The way story unfolds is really good and it was nice to see our jungle cats win rugby World Cup. This story needs to travel to more people. The sports needs more encouragement in our country and identify the real talent.

The makers have presented the true story of Odisha boys who made the gate for india in rugby..this movie cannot be reviewed it's simply a selfless effort from bunch of people to raise the slum kids and make their life to new sun..Abhay was good along with the boys the innocence was well presented

The movie could had been made in a high commercial way where everyone could had seen this untold story.

I took my daughters to watch this movie and they completely loved it. The kids' journey will touch everyone's heart. Especially people with families must take their kids to watch and make them learn that how effort, hard work make everything possible.

No one can stop those tribal kids from enhancing their magic over our spirits.... Who have travelled far from Orissa tribes to England just to shine the name of our country.

Heart warming, thrilling, inspiring.

Story was great, and the way everything was put together was brilliant.

Most of the real stories are inspiring and motivating, but this one is an add-on because this is entertaining too so that you won't feel normal . Don't miss this one.

Jungle Cry (2022) : Movie Review -

In 2007, two great things related to sports happened. One was when Team India won the first ever T20 World Cup, and second, Shimit Amin made a classic sports drama, "Chak De India"! Interestingly, these two are connected with Jungle Cry. Let me tell you how. Jungle Cry's story is based on an event that took place in the same period when Team India won the 2007 World Cup, and the second thing is, it looks similar to what Chak De India showed in the same year. Chak De India has actually broken almost all the dramatic conflicts that any great sports drama can have. We did have great sports dramas like "Bhaag Milkha Bhaag" (2013) and "Dangal" (2016), but both were biographical dramas, while "Chak De India" was a fictional tale. Maybe that's why it was so dramatic, and hence, a tough film for its time. Lagaan (2001) was even way ahead because it was too early for the last ball drama and stuff, and also because it wasn't an outright sports drama. These four films have set the bar too high and haven't left anything for others. Therefore, Jungle Cry looks outdated, despite its miraculously true story.

The movie is based on the true story of 12 boys from Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), who trained hard to master the beautiful sport of rugby, and within 4 months went on to win the 2007 Under-14 Rugby World Cup in England. Rudra (Abhay Deol) is a football coach, but he has to give up the format as Paul (Stewart Wright), a foreign rugby coach, sees potential in the boys for the Rugby World Cup. How these two take the boys on this victorious journey is all that forms the entire plot of Jungle Cry in two hours. Jungle Cry has a good, inspiring story, but is spoiled by a faltering screenplay. Not a single scene in the movie has anything new to excite you, despite so much action in the middle of the ground. Even before the match, you know the results and can even predict the next matches. Like I said, the cliches were already used by those four films, so here, there's nothing to keep you hooked. Moreover, a dull presentation causes extra boredom.

Performance-wise, Abhay Deol is fairly decent as a coach. This guy can do better, as we have all seen in the past, so his performance in Jungle Cry doesn't really match the level of hype. In her first scene, Emily Shah is highly impressive with that smooth accent. But later on, it gets corny and her character leaves you unsatisfied. All the child artists are in natural flow, or should I say, too natural to feature in a film. It feels like a real-time documentary on many occasions because the boys don't act. They just do what they do in real life. Atul Kumar does his part well, while the rest of the supporting cast looks okay in their minor roles.

2007 makes for another interesting coincidence with Jungle Cry. Director Sagar Ballary made his most acclaimed film till date, "Bheja Fry", in the same year. I think he was stuck with the same vision of 2007 for Jungle Cry, which was made for the audience of 2022. The film has glitches that you can easily notice and find irritating, but in some scenes, Ballary has done a fantastic job. Those rugby match scenes are some of the finest shots ever taken in Bollywood's mainstream sports dramas. The way the camera captures all those pacy action-driven sequences is truly commendable. Sagar Ballary and the technical team deserve to be hailed for that. However, the rest of the films have nothing impressive, making it an average watch. Nevertheless, the film deserves to be watched at least once to know the unpopular story of underdogs who created history. Watch out for that climax scene when you realise how the craze for cricket has overshadowed many great achievements in the history of Indian sports.

When we think of a sports movie, inside we decide that it would be just normal ..but trust me this movie with the acting of abhay deol is truly thrilling.

I am feeling so excited to see that world level challenge in the movie that is based on a real life story of some tribal kids who won against the most privileged kids .

Please don't take my review seriously as I didn't watch the series beyond one hour that too after using the fast forward button. In whatever little time that I spent watching, the few observations are that Deol was wasted in a weak, poor, outdated, irrelevant storyline pushed forward with the help of a talented star.

Well, this real story has proved everybody's imagination wrong .

Those who thinks that sports movie has nothing to do with entertainment, this will reassert that they are wrong because it's full of entertainment and fun.

Sports, emotion, inspiration, dedication, hard-work, what do you want more to become a movie is a great hit. It is really good i must appreciate this one. I loved this.....

Portraying a real story character becomes tough because you have to change yourself , but abhay deol has proved that nothing is impossible for his immense level of acting.

Some of the moments in this movie are pure magic. A scene where Rudra and Rajkishor run from the latter's family, and go lie down on the fields is such an uplifting seem. The narrative is so involving.

Dramas can be boring but the real stories are always entertaining and amusing, so will this movie because this has a blend of reality, struggle and dedication.

Writing could be better but rest is all OK. Specially I am always impressed with Abhay Deol's acting. He do it so effortlessly. Its mind blowing. I would like to see him in more movies.

The dialogues of this movie hit you hard. They have a deep impact and resonate with you for long. One such dialogue that I like the most is- Abhay's Rudra says 'Har Cheez ko ideology ke chashme se nahin dekhna chahiye'. It is so relatable.

Although it's a sports movie, but you can't say that it's not entertaining . Because it has every aspect involved that makes a movie to hit the right place of your liking .

Sports movie completely ruined showing everything except strategy around the game. It lacks intensity, thrill like Chak De or Dangal. Terrible didn't like it at all.

This story of nation's spirit is about how deep it is in the souls of individuals living here. The best part about Jungle Cry is that it inspires you to keep your head held high during tough times.

I am sure from now ..that it's going to be a great hit. Because people nowadays want something that is different from normal...and this movie will reassert itself.
