The weekly cliffhangers keep me coming back. HOWEVER, Robin Givens is waaaay too much over the top. While I think no one could portray Stephanie Lancaster but her, she seriously needs to tone down her delivery. Sometimes, it sounds forced, which comes across as fake. Also, Essence is a little whiny at times. Other than that.....I love it! Lots of twists and turns.

Okay okay ... I wanted to not review this , but this show gave me the break I needed from my usual heavy intense or cerebral psychological dramas and thrillers that I love to watch. So I agree with the earlier comment about campy good soapy fun.Robin is the best at bringing the former Dynasty/ Alexis/ film noir like reads and flavor. Like a "classy" Cookie Lyons lol!!! I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who finds Robin Givens acting way over the top. Perhaps because it's a soap opera, which has never been my thing. The rest of the actors are decent. The storylines are decent, which is why I'm still watching... for now. Robin Givens' acting makes me want to turn off my TV! But seriously, I'd be surprised if the show makes it to season 2.

I really like the show and what it's about. I just can't get over how bad of an actress Robin Givens is. All other actors are great and do a great job. Not too much over acting or facial expressions. Robin Givens acting just doesn't seem natural to me.

If you're looking for a show that's a throwback to the glory days of classic soaps like Knots Landing, Dynasty, etc. then this is the show for you! Every single character has ties to someone else on the show and the plots are interwoven well. It doesn't hurt that the cast is good looking and glamorous. Other reviewers are calling it a black soap, and that's fine, but to me, it doesn't matter what color the characters are if the story is compelling, and this is. I can't wait for the next episode.

Who ever rated this show 10 Stars need to rethink their life.

Bad acting, bad story, bad potting, bad writing, just bad all over and everything in between. I love the diverse casting and setting this story in a multicultural society but that's about all that deserves a 1 Star rating.

Good show would have been nice if they had a season 2. The actors and actresses did a good job. The storylines are entertaining. Good overall show 6 out of 10.

I mean. When you're filming it, you don't ask if she needs to go to the hospital because of her over-gasping breathy talk? Did you think it was a Disney movie where she's the dramatic evil stepmother, and over dramatics are necessary? Get her an oxygen tank and replace her, or have her act normal otheixe it's pretty annoying and everyone agrees, unless you want a cancellation

I love the storyline. Robin Givens is everything. I love that Atlanta's socialites types are featured. So many Atlanta portrayals show the hood. Even the Have and the Have Nots is based in Savannah & not Atlanta. I'm giving the show a huge nod!

If the people who wrote bad reviews about this show knew anything about art, would understand the show is amazing. Talent, skill, Cinematography. My expression is based on opinion. (Wink) Live love life!!

Ambitions is full of bad, over the top acting. Robin Givens acting is horrible and because of her I can't watch this show anymore. If they replaced her with a better actor the show may have a chance.

Wow the first episode was just jaw dropping.... So much going on For the pilot episode. I gotta say this show has everything from outstanding acting, lighting, storyline, soundtrack, etc. on top of that everyone on the show are good looking. This show is fire 🔥

There's an argument to be made that good acting is increasingly being confused with intense acting. Robin Givens, This isn't a High School Play your casting in...Every time you speak..it sound like your reading a script from a play...She just not a good actress for the role she's is playing in Ambitions

Robin Given needs to be replace period. She just does the most. To much over acting on her part. The show would be ok if they would find another villain as to play Robin's part. I just can't continue to watch anymore. I'll rather watch cartoons or Netflix then to watch more of robin over acting....

With Empire leaving soon this is giving me the most drama I have seen in one show and it's just the first episode I'm loving it

Robin Givens is horrible. I cringed every time she opened her mouth. She has no talent but apparently she thinks she does. Its embarrassing.

Not sure why people are giving low ratings...It's a good show. I'm looking forward to watching the whole season.

Robin givens is such an horrible actor, she overacts in every scene. And the writing is just one cliche after another.

When all the characters are intertwined with each other in some capacity and not all individual storylines, you KNOW that's gonna be good drama. Kudos to this cast and crew, off to a good start!

This show would be so much better if someone else was playing the part of Stephanie Lancaster. I'm sorry, but Robin Givens is the absolute worst actress. She tries too hard and really over does it. The storyline is great, but she cheapens the show with her horrible acting skills. We get the same "stuck up, snob" in every role she plays. Shouldn't a professional actor be able to give us some variety? Maybe try ACTING and give us less of the real you!

She is just a horrible actress....Remove Robin and you have a winner!!!!

Love this scheming Dynasty like Drama. Its been a while since i have seen this type of glossy and extravagant TV show and an attractive great cast. Not sure how the rating is so low going on entertainment value it should be much higher. Paula WA

Robin Givens made it extremely tough to watch but was determined to finish once I started; to support our Black Actors. Okay story line

I don't know who decided to rate the show with 1 star but clearly they're haters. The show is fast paced, each and EVERY character has an interesting storyline. The actors are amazing. This is a black soap show which we rarely see on tv today. Learn to support black shows instead of hating on them

The premise of this show is good. The storyline could be much better. Robin Givens is the worse actress on the planet. Gotta give the sister credit, she looks amazing! Please go back to the writers room and kill Stephanie Lancaster. Other option, replace Robin Givens. Sorry brother, Robin is just taking away from what could be an amazing show. Oh, there is a third option send her to acting school.
