I'm about to cancel my Netflix membership. They keep making horrible productions aren't worth a dime and canceling the well-made series with unique plots with high ratings. It's just stupid.

The series is reminiscent of 4 blocks. Migrant drug wars in Germany. Frankfurt instead of Berlin. In addition, the show offers elements of the gangster rap scene in Frankfurt and neighboring Offenbach. Good actors, Turks, Kurds, Austrians, Swiss, Germans. Some cameos from rappers. Quite entertaining. Cool hiphop music from Frankfurt ( Offenbach). Good camera movements, many original locations with authentic dirty look. I know the locations. Everything is real.

I binge watched the first season in one evening and was impressed by it. I'm not a fan of German series or movies because they are quite generic and the same boring style. But this show gave me goosebumps - the music and the acting is very good. If you like German rap this is a must see. If not, you should still give it a try. The quality of the first episode is maintained throughout the whole season.

Great story, great mood, excellent cast. Dark, gripping, realistic.

I binged this season in one day and can't wait for season 2. Absolutely recommend. It doesn't show Frankfurt (I am born in Frankfurt and live there my whole life) in very positive light but it helps to maintain the great mood in every episode.

This show absolutely impresses me. It's well rounded with character development and a constantly building storyline. So many possibilities and with the music twist it makes it even better.

As a comparison in quality, suspense, acting, I'm taking into consideration Dogs of Berlin, since this is also a German Netflix production, and the series is pretty decent. (8/10).

This one here, Skylines, is truly a mixed bag. A combination of good a not so good ideas, but the ones that are good are very predictable. If you a musician or simply enjoy rap, you might like this. This was one of the only points that were more of less interesting, specially if you a producer yourself.

The first season is endurable, but it lacks any kind of suspense building up, and also here is non when passing from one episode to the other. There will be clearly a second season, but to be honest I doubt I will pick up where I left.

All in one, watchable if you don't have high expectation or want something special. Skip it or watch it. The first episode it a good measurement on what to expect the whole first season. Episode by episode. It stays the same. No more, no less.

A very good show with great actors. So good, that nearly everthing seens very realistic.

The show is a bit of a mixed bag. Overall the story is quite nice and has the surprises a viewer should expect (or not), but acting wise for example, its hits and misses. Not sure why they decided to pull the plug on this, but the end might not satisfy a lot of viewers. It is quite open ended or rather open to interpretations on some regards.

Many strands are left on the sidelines (or is it skylines?), during and at the end of it all. Conflicts arise and sometimes just seem to dissapear for convinience. What counts are the characters and they have something to tell, which makes it enganging but also a bit sad that the telling of the story isn't more focused

It's often times a little funny how they got things but overall it's a great start for a hopefully continued Show.

I especially liked the idea of having real german talents in the show and not only actors.

A side note for the producers: incorporate real backgrounds from real talents. Sido, Bushido, B-Tight, Curse, Afrob, and all the other rap musicians deeply involved in the music businesses itself. That would be so great.

I did not have the highest expectations and "Skylines" admittedly starts kind of slow. But after episode 2 it really takes off and benefits from authentic settings, solid writing and very good acting/casting. The inclusion of music and rap works surprisingly well, due to the songs coming from high-profile producers. Give it a try, you will like it!

Characters shallow and generic. plot idea is good but badly executed . stereotypical characters , illogical reactions and obvious stupid desicion just to create a scene and fill time

As a fan of another German crime show "Dogs of Berlin", I thoroughly enjoyed Skylines. The cultural aspects as well as the underground rap scene is [ortrayed very well. The characters are interesting and mysterious and each of them have their own story. Definitely a must watch.

Good plot, interesting view into the german rapscene! Acting is pretty good as well!

It's shot and acted in a vivid and convincing manner, and the overlapping story lines among the individual characters are well constructed. If you like music or crime shows or both, do yourself a favour and do watch it right now. Don't understand the current average rating (7.5/10???). There are so many shows being released that I'd just let roll in the background, but Skylines I binge watched the whole first season in one evening with rapt attention. The combination of the music and the criminal underbelly that co-exists in the backdrop of Frankfurt is quite a brilliant one, and they mostly nailed the execution. As a musician I am always a bit nervous that an idea incorporating music will be a half-baked attempt, but the music is actually quite good and the characters make you feel that they love what they do and feel the music and the act of creating moments like musicians would. They put serious work in this to make it as real as possible, and it pays off. Def worth watching.

I love the story, i love the show. i am not a rapper and i dont listen rap music, but as a frankfurter i had to watch this and i was impressed... edin is just great. bravo brate!

Thsi topic of young music players involved with gangsters can be similar to another French series from 2020 and called VALIDE, but I prefer this one, closer to 4 BLOCKS in the atmosphere and characters. You ahev here a real batch of "faces", Turkish, Albanese or Arabs, real tough guys. Whao...It begins like a common music drama about rap musicians and singers, but proceeds like a gritty crime series, in the pure mafia genre. It is only a SHAME that Netflix did not continue this series. Is is beyond any understanding. If it was the decison of a common channel because the lack of audience, OK, but netflix doesn't proceed this way, I guess, This is a streaming platform. And the end of this season is open on a second which will never be. I have never been so frustrated. Such a shame.

Sincerely I only kept watching the show , only because it reminds me the time I lived in Frankfurt and I wanted to practice my german. Nevertheless the series especially lacks of interesting and charismatic characters. The first episode fails to introduce us a bunch of characters and situations, that just made us get confused as viewers. You cannot really tell, who is who and what they are doing. The end make us confused again and it´s too open. If you like german language and rap music, you might enjoy the soundtrack , which is by far the only good thing of the show, if not there´s absolutely no reason, why you should watch it.

All the German series on Netflix are just awesome and this one is not an exemption. Great actors, great story line, fully entertaining, full of action and good music. I recommend it and hope for a second season.

As a German most productions made in Germany make me cringe and cause a high level of "fremdschämen". This series however is pure gold. It is well written and extremely well filmed. Characters are authentic and actors are all great without the usual German overacting, as seen in most other productions aus Deutschland. The makers should be proud of what they have created. This is easily among the best German series ever produced. Not sure what hinders the continuation but It's such a shame that there's no follow up and closure.

Skylines is a typical crime story with a good script, involving the honest business mixed with a racket of a well to do family of Turkish immigrants in Germany "The Kanack". Location, the great city of Frankfurt, it keeps the viewer attention all the way through sustaining an even quality fed by a continuous array of fast paced events. Leaves the ending full open for a second season

Hope for a second season. Good acting, good story.

The typical fare that Netflix is more and more known for - generic stories, generic characters, now also produced on a national level. Might be perfect for the target group that they try to reach - on another level the series embodies everything that makes German serial storytelling so boring: Predictable narrative, mostly badly acted (Who came up with the idea of rappers playing rappers? Never worked, never will) and interesting only from the perspective of an easily excited teenager with Gangster rap fantasies.

Avoid...

Bad story, boring, acting consisted of grunts, last episode totally pointless and unbelievable. Might play well in some other countries but not at my house. If I get the story correct, these dudes had a fledgling rap business but one of the bros was a in other businessess too. Only other thing that I understood was that skinny female dick kept chasing him around until he caught her in a totally dumb scene. Sorry I wasted my time.

What a waste of time this Series Was! Bad Acting and a poor dj who creates some "GENIUS" rap beats with his little box :) hopefully there will be no second season!

Idea is good, but important roles are badly cast. A certain degree of authenticity is also missing, presumably the producer had wrong consultants. Germany just can't make a good series, you probably don't dare to cast the roles authentically. What a shame...
