Fans have been waiting with bated breath for more and more updates on Henry Cavill‘s Highlander reboot, and now, it has been confirmed that actress Karen Gillan has joined the team. This makes her the second Marvel star to hop on the project after Dave Bautista.

The original film (1986) saw Christopher Lambert in the lead role as Connor MacLeod, a Medieval Highlander who finds out that he is an immortal warrior. With the help of Sean Connery‘s Ramirez, MacLeod fights other immortal beings over centuries, resulting in a modern battle.

The official trailer has been released for The Map That Leads to You, a new romantic drama from Amazon MGM Studios. The film is set for a release on Aug. 20, 2025.

Directed by Lasse Hallström, the film is based on the novel by Jp Monninger. Vera Herbert (This Is Us) and Les Bohem (Shut Eye) wrote the screenplay. Madelyn Cline (Outer Banks) and Kj Apa (Riverdale) lead the cast as two young lovers whose blossoming romance is tested after a chance encounter. The trailer for the film, teased as a "one-way ticket to romance," can be watched below.

The film also stars Sofia Wylie, Madison Thompson Saves the World), and Josh Lucas.

Producers include Temple Hill's Marty Bowen, Wyck Godfrey, Isaac Klausner, and John Fischer. The film is executive produced by Hal Sadoff, Petersen Harris, Matt Luber, Nuria Valls, and Les Bohem.
