When I started watching this, first thoughts on the programme is that it is full of bad dialogue as they sound like they are on a playground talking to each other. I thought I would give it a chance on episode 2 but it just gets worse with bad visual effects and even more bad dialogue and more bad acting. I do not recommend watching this unless you are struggling with something to watch.
Looking at the breakdown of the ratings I thought that men were just rating it lower because it's a show about women. That was a wrong assessment.
The new governess had beed the deputy governess for two weeks, but now seems to know nothing about the prison.
The "intimidating" inmate is someone you'd have a little laugh at, and would be a minor annoyance at worst. There is also no way anyone would confuse her as part of the staff.
You've got a bungling new guard who sits on control panels and can't find his way around even with a map. It's not a big prison, walking through it once you'd remember where everything is.

As a fan of prison dramas such as Bad Girls, Prisoner: Cell Block H and Wentworth, I was intrigued when I heard that a new women's prison drama would be coming UK screens in 2019. When I heard that that it was going to be an original production for 5Star and that it was going to be called "Clink", I started to think bad acting, awful writing and that it won't last beyond the first season. After watching the first episode, I have to say I was pretty surprised, as it was a little better than I expected it would be. The one thing that actually got me interest was that Alicya Eyo who played prisoner, Denny Blood in Bad Girls was going to be the governor in this series. When I watched it however, I wasn't exactly bored, but wasn't thrilled either. Nothing dramatic, no fights, not even a sense of threat. The prisoners are actually polite. The acting is just ok. There isn't that nervous build-up when you know something big is coming. It's no Bad Girls and I doubt it ever will be as good, but I think it may have potential to go somewhere. I can't exactly recommend it, but at least watch the first episode, you'll know if you want to go any further.
Well this was a rare find. I have always been a fan of prison drama since cell block h and the genre has come a long way since then.
The first couple of episodes had some rough edges, some poor acting and the low budget was quite evident. I only stuck with the series because I love the genre.
I am so glad I did!
The acting of all the characters really embedded as it progressed and the intricate story lines that developed were gripping. So much so that the budget became irrelevant.
The last few episodes really took me by surprise where twists in the story were fast paced and unpredictable yet fully believable.
I found myself caring for every character in different ways and think each actor shined by the close.
Well done to all involved!
I really wish a season two was coming but given the gap in time it seems unlikely.
I would truly love to know what happened next. So many questions.
Thanks for the great show.

I just finished Wentworth and was looking for something . By the 4th episode I was really enjoying this. I just wish it didn't end so abruptly and there was at leat 1 more episode so we can see what happens with everybody. I don't think it could have run more than a few seasons because it didn't have a lot of side stories and t didn't get as in depth into the girls back grounds but I do with there was more cuz OITNB is crap.
