The Costume took, on average, 3 hours to put on, and another 2-3 hours to remove. Efficiencies were added during the process, though. On the first day of shooting- The costume (with full makeup) took 4 1/2 hours to put on.
Although cuts of the film range from 15-25 minutes long, the filming process ran 9 weeks long with 11 total days of filming at 10 different locations. In the end, there was found to be 40+ hours of total recorded camera time.
The original concept was greatly influenced by a project that was never completed entitled "The Real Story- As Told by Satan" - Developed by Josh and Nicholas Jaye Stauffer. It was meant to be a one man stage play written by the brothers, with "Half, Appropriately" actor Kevin Percival starring in the title role. When the screenplay was in development, most of the ground rules for the character went virtually unchanged. The story, however, was changed dramatically to fit the format.
The Title Card, as well as all of the Sketch Drawings that appeared in the film, were drawn by Lisa Yoder- Nicholas' mother.
