Amazon Prime and Dharma Productions have announced the new release date of their upcoming film starring Vicky Kaushal, Ammy Virk and Triptii Dimri. The film, which is yet to be titled, will hit the cinemas on 23 Feb 2024. The film is directed by Anand Tiwari, who has previously helmed the web series Bandish Bandits and the film Love Per Square Foot.

The film is said to be a romantic comedy set in the backdrop of a wedding. Vicky Kaushal will play the role of a wedding planner, while Ammy Virk and Triptii Dimri will play the bride and groom. The film will also feature Rajpal Yadav, Rajesh Sharma and Manoj Joshi in supporting roles.

The film was initially slated to release on 9 Sep 2023, but was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the subsequent lockdowns. The makers decided to wait for the theatres to reopen and give the film a big-screen experience.

After making it big on the small screen, actress Sargun Mehta moved to production as well as acting in Punjabi cinema, where she has won hearts. The actress says that she didn’t blindly choose Bollywood as she wanted to be sure of the work that she took up.

“I was very sure that I didn’t want to just be around there and do two songs without giving importance to the story of the film. I don’t think it will be very exciting for me to do that. I always wanted to do something different. If someone wants to watch a certain type of my work, they can see it in Punjabi too. But if I’m doing some work apart from Punjabi films or songs, I should be doing something different and new. The response to ‘Cuttputlli’ has been fantastic.

Actor-producer Yuvraj S Singh, a close friend of late star Sushant Singh Rajput, says not only does the drug culture prevail in Bollywood, it is also a way to move around in the industry. He claimed that most A-list actors are addicted to cocaine.

"There's been a lot of drugs happening for a long time, maybe since the 1970s. At that time things were different. There wasn't so much exposure or social media. Now, it is getting exposed," Yuvraj told Ians.

"There are many people in the industry who take cocaine. There are many actors and filmmakers who on drugs and are roaming around, and that is why this madness is really happening," he added.

Talking about the drugs that are popular in the industry, the "Beiimaan Love" actor said: "Weed is like cigarette. From cameraperson to technicians, people on the set normally take weed. Bollywood parties are mostly about cocaine.
