I, Robot (2004) might be the movie you're thinking of, but it's not very similar. That also involves robots/androids, and both show and movie quote the three laws of robotics invented by Isaac Asimov (who wrote the original "I, Robot" collection of short stories). But the storylines are quite different, the robots behave quite differently, and the whole tone of the show is quite different (suspense drama of the show versus action comedy of the movie).
