Season 7 adopts a monthly format, with a new double feature airing on the first Friday of every month on Shudder and AMC+. The episodes will be available on demand the Sunday after each premiere.

The fun begins on March 7 with Ice Nine Kills frontman Spencer Charnas as a special guest.

‘The Last Drive-In’ Season 7 Sets Ice Nine Kills Frontman Spencer Charnas as First Guest, Shudder Debuts Trailer (Exclusive)
Image
Joe Bob Briggs is back at “The Last Drive-In,” with Shudder debuting the first trailer for its variety show’s seventh season ahead of its March 7 premiere.

Along with new footage and a promise of many double-features, the show also announced that the first episode would guest feature Spencer Charnas, frontman of the horror-slanted heavy metal band Ice Nine Kills. The program, hosted by Joe Bob Briggs and Darcy the Mail Girl, also teased its season premiere programming, promising a 100th birthday celebration for “the first great American horror film.” This seventh season will cover more than 30 genre titles.

Charnas had previously teased his visit to the show to fans, posting on his own Instagram earlier this year, saying he is “Pre Lon’d up” — perhaps a reference to silent film star Lon Chaney ahead of the episode’s centennial celebration.

“The Last Drive-In With Joe Bob Briggs” returns on March 7 at 9 pm Et,...

The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs season 7 will consist of monthly double features
John Bloom in Hello Mary Lou: Prom Night II (2019)
Last year, Shudder renewed The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs for a supersized sixth season that was designed to make sure that legendary movie host / drive-in movie critic Joe Bob Briggs would be an even more consistent presence on the streaming service throughout the year. Normally, a season of The Last Drive-In would see Joe Bob hosting double features every Friday for ten weeks straight. The sixth season took a different approach, having Joe Bob host a single movie every other Friday. Right before that season wrapped up at the end of August, it was announced that Shudder had ordered another season of the show – and now, we’ve learned that the format is getting another shake-up for The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs season 7. Confirmed by Joe Bob himself, this season will consist of monthly double feature episodes, airing on the first Friday of every month. It premieres on Friday,...

“The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs” Returns in March with New Monthly Format
Image
Proving once again that the drive-in will never die, “The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs” will return for its seventh season next month on Shudder and AMC+.

After last year’s biweekly — or fortnightly, as Briggs liked to say — programming of single features caused confusion among viewers, the new season is adopting a monthly double feature format.

Briggs and Darcy the Mail Girl will host a two-film watch party on the first Friday of every month, beginning March 7, with episodes going on-demand the Sunday after each premiere.

“We’re back to double features this year, so either take a nap in the afternoon or call in sick because we’re gonna get Crazy,” Briggs posted on X.

The beloved horror host also teased that Season 7 is kicking off with a 100th birthday celebration, which is likely to be the 1925 classic silent adaptation of The Phantom of the Opera starring Lon Chaney.

Trash: basura (1987)
Get ready for a full load of face-melting gory goodness when Cineverse/Bloody Disgusting/Screambox reboot the 1987 cult classic Street Trash alongside Vinegar Syndrome!

Production is currently underway in various locations around Cape Town, South Africa for the film that is shot entirely on 35mm. The news was first reported by Variety.

Cineverse plans to release the film as a Screambox Original in early 2024.

From director Ryan Kruger, whose first independent feature Fried Barry played dozens of film festivals worldwide, Street Trash follows a group of homeless misfits as they fight for survival when they discover a plot to exterminate every homeless person in the city.

“Our reimagining of Street Trash takes place in Cape Town, South Africa where the growing divide between rich and poor has changed the world as we know it,” says Kruger. “I was a huge fan of the original Street Trash when I was a kid,...

John Bloom in Hello Mary Lou: Prom Night II (2019)
It’s a new year, which means a new slate of holiday specials from horror host Joe Bob Briggs and “The Last Drive-in” on Shudder. Up first is the brand new Valentine’s Day Special, “Joe Bob’s Vicious Vegas Valentine.”

What pairs better with matrimony than monsters?

Joe Bob Briggs, Darcy the Mail Girl, and “The Last Drive-in” crew aim to deliver the biggest special yet by leaving behind the trailer part and taking the wedding capital of the world by storm. In addition to a horror double feature centered around “nasty love stories,” the legendary horror host will also officiate the wedding of two fans on-air!

“During this year’s demented double feature, I’ll be joining in unholy matrimony two young lovers thoroughly schooled in the twisted tenets of The Last Drive-In. And I’ll probably need an Elvis jumpsuit to do it,” Briggs said.

Priyanka Arulmohan, Vinay Rai, Sivakarthikeyan, and Yogi Babu in Doctor (2021)
BBC America has set a U.S. premiere date for the salvaged “Doctor Who” serial “Fury From the Deep,” AMC Networks announced Wednesday.

The six animated episodes were produced by BBC Studios last year using audio tracks from the original installments starring Patrick Troughton as The Doctor. (The original 1968 versions are among the classic “Doctor Who” episodes that are famously missing from the BBC archives.) The updated animated versions, which aired in the U.K. back in September, will get their U.S. debut on BBC America on Sunday, March 21.

The announcement came along with a slew of other new premiere dates for AMC’s various networks and streaming platforms, including BBC America, IFC, the flagship AMC linear network, Shudder and Acorn TV.

See the full list of dates below.
