Actually the 2018 movie "Flight 666" wasn't really as bad as one might initially expect it to be.
I sat down to watch it because I enjoy horror movies, and I wasn't familiar with the movie prior to finding it by sheer, random luck. And it being a horror movie, and of course containing the 666 part, made me want to watch it.
The storyline that writers Jacob Cooney and Brandon Stroud came up with was actually entertaining enough for what it turned out to be. However, this is not a grand moment in horror cinema. But "Flight 666" turned out to be entertaining, enjoyable and watchable enough for what it was.
The acting in the movie was adequate. Now the movie doesn't really have anyone overly familiar or famous on the cast list, for better or worse. I enjoyed that, because it was a heap of mostly new faces on the screen. And I do like watching movies with actors and actresses that I haven't seen before and associate with other established roles.
As for the horror part. Well, let's just say that this is where the movie was lacking contents. I am sure that some younger viewers might find certain things in the movie a bit scary. But for a seasoned horror veteran such as myself, this was a mere stroll in the park.
While "Flight 666" is watchable, it is hardly a movie that you will watch more than a single time though.
My rating of director Rob Pallatina's 2018 movie is a five out of ten stars.

I had low expectations for this movie. The acting was surprisingly good for a low budget thriller. I was a little disappointed because it was labeled a "horror" movie which it really isn't. If you're a real movie fan that can appreciate a quality low budget film, it's surprisingly good. If you're a zombie who only likes Hollywood blockbusters then don't watch it. You're too dense to understand this kind of art. I wasn't trying to be pretentious, but if it came off that way, who cares? I probably wouldn't like you anyway. 6/10. Worth watching for sure.
I have to admit even though for a "B" movie it was entertaining. If there is a lower catagory then it belongs there. Definitely seemed like it was a college student making this flick for a class project or something.
I do give them credit for showing the correct plane and cockpit set up but that's where it ends and the technical gaffs abound. For one that plane needs 3 pilots to fly it. They were missing their Flight engineer. Many smaller gaffs in the script for the actual flying and procedures but the biggest gaff of all, the biggest movie mistake of all time that I have ever come across is that the whole time while they were flying.....the cockpit sliding windows were open !!!!!! Tech advisor where are you????? All of the interior cockpit scenes where shot with the windows open. Initially this was probably done for the pilot close ups but then someone was supposed to close them.

There's no "Snakes On A Plane" in this film. There's not even an airplane malfunction or terrorist attack like in the 'Airport' movies from the 1970s. It all has to do with the supernatural and fairly succeeds on that level. A wicked thunderstorm, of course, enhances the eerie setting where the passengers act nervous about the turbulence while the flight attendants comfort them. It's a tense situation where some of the passengers seemingly start to go "mad" about what they're seeing in the washroom and out the windows. There are grotesque visions afoot and it's all brushed off at first as panic about the thunderstorm, but later on, there's a realization that something sinister is going on.
I thought the military beefcake known as Austin would take a handle on the uncontrollable spooks that were happening. He seemed to easily take control whenever the passengers reached a hysteria, but it was the equally beefy police detective known as Thad who took command of things. Austin wasn't really given much to do even though he carried the potential. I thought he should have. It was like having Arnold Schwarzenegger standing idly by while the action reaches a zenith.
It eventually plays out like an Agatha Christie-who-done-it with the realization that two murdered women were haunting the plane and were trying to reveal who it was that murdered them. This movie was clever, I thought I had the identity of the killer pegged, but was proven totally wrong afterwards. You just have to follow along until the answer comes towards the end.
I admit I've always liked these "panic in the skies" type of flicks and this one delivers though it definitely isn't high caliber regarding a true airline disaster. It's more or less a ghost story in the same vein as "The Amityville Horror", but takes place on a jet instead of a haunted house. This movie isn't the best, but it delivers on dishing out shocks and thrills in the horror genre. I just wish Austin was the hero out of it all. He was so HOT.

Really deserves a higher rating. Granted some plot holes and illogical actions by many. But a thriller with many plot twists that will keep you guessing, right to the end.
Valuable lesson......don't not watch (I know 2x neg) a movie just because the group has given it a sub 5 rating. Of course this works both ways 6+ may not be your thing, sub 4 might be. One of the things I love about movies.
If you are looking for a late night 'spooky' to keep your girlfriend nice and close.....you could do a lot worse. Honest
