How is the rating between octane levels determined? I heard that there are two different ways to make the determination. Can two different stations have the same octane rating and still be different because of additives. Does the difference in octane levels make a difference in horsepower? I would like to see a program discussing octane ratings of 85 on up. I am an 81 year old retired truck driver and I do really enjoy the program. Is there a possibility of having a program that talks about increasing power in a four cylinder and a six cylinder? There has to be some ways of accomplishing something similar to an eight cylinder. Thanks for a great program, Mike.
First off, I would like to say I absolutely, hands down enjoy your show. I enjoy your show because it is data driven. Real data that you can see and compare after testing.
Except on last night's show, "Comparing Spark Plugs" airing 05.12.2023 here in PA.
I was not happy the show choosing not to get involved with testing E3 spark plugs. I cannot image the show could not get their hands on E3 for a big block chevy with the pep time you have before air.
My personal opinion the show could not have taken a chance having E3's not being as good or better than what was tested. E3's has a pretty big footprint in this industry. Sort of "not biting the hand that feeds this industry".
Thanks Pete.

Just binge watched the entire series. I've been a gear head for 50+ years. I've learned a lot from it. I wish I had known some of it back in the day when I was hot rodding street cars. Great show guys! Keep up the great work!
The only gripe with this show is sometimes it's a little too highbrow for me. That's not a big deal because every time I watch this show, I learn so much! I'm a DIYer and have learned a TON over the years mechanically speaking. If you don't understand something, rewind a second because they do a great job of explaining. If you still don't get it, that's ok. Sometimes something is way above your head and if they dumbed it down for everyone, it would be 3 hr episodes lol. No shame or anything, I've sat there and been scratching my head until my finger came out my ear. This show is no BS and real information and knowledge, that's outstanding!
The show would be so much better if you got rid of Steve he's just a whining cry baby can't even watch the show anymore.
