For going on two decades, One Piece fans in Japan have tuned in to Fuji TV at 9.30 a.m. for the latest episodes of Toei Animation's long-running shonen masterpiece. However, the franchise recently confirmed that One Piece will have a brand-new time slot when it next returns.

The One Piece anime is currently in the middle of a six-month hiatus, which is scheduled to conclude in April 2025. Per Mantan Web, Fuji Television has announced that starting that month, One Piece's traditional Sunday morning time slot, which it has held since October 2006, will be dedicated to a new collection of animated works co-produced by Aniplex and China's popular video streaming site, bilibili. One Piece's first official successor will be a new "superhero action drama" titled To Be Hero X. One Piece's new time slot has yet to be confirmed, although this will be announced at this year's Jump Festa event on Dec.

Studio Bones has released more details about its upcoming sci-fi anime, Metallic Rouge.

Unlike the studio's previous hit, My Hero Academia, Metallic Rouge is not based on any other existing works. The anime's official website now showcases a third promotional video, which teases exciting mech-style action scenes. Bones has also revealed the full staff and cast list for Metallic Rouge. The series is scheduled to start broadcasting in Japan in January 2024, airing on Fuji Television's Ultra+ programming block. Earlier this year, Crunchyroll confirmed that it will stream Metallic Rouge for subscribers in all major territories, excluding Asia.

Over the Moon, an animated feature heads to Netflix in October, showcasing an aesthetically impressive, awe-inspiring tale of wonder and randomly-erupting musical sequences that’s out to prove that Disney+ isn’t the only place on which its genre flourishes.

The film focuses on the exploits of a young Asian-American girl, who—having been entranced by a myth about a goddess who accidentally floated away from her true love to be exiled on the moon—embarks on a cosmic endeavor of building a rocket for a lunar visit of her own. Despite the problematic practicalities of its plot mechanics, Over the Moon appears destined to become a family-aimed crowd-pleaser, and also serves as valuable representation for a demographic that’s infrequently set in a protagonist capacity in Western features.
