Started off reasonably well...got very boring in the middle...and ended with a lot of action. But if I'm honest, I didn't really understand the premise.
What motivated them all? It just didn't make sense to me.
You see someone you haven't seen for years, and you just agree to stay at their house for the weekend...without even catching up first?!! Especially considering that they're just starting IVF...you don't go a wacky adventures during IVF!
For the most part, the cinematography and sound were good, but overall it's a good idea that was poorly executed.
Could of been so much better.

I happened to stumble upon the 2019 movie "Making Monsters" in 2021. I had never heard about it, and I didn't even know what it was about. However, I saw the movie's cover and figured it to be a horror movie, so of course I ended up watching "Making Monsters".
And while "Making Monsters" from writer Justin Harding was watchable, it was not really an outstanding or memorable horror movie. Sure, the storyline was adequately entertaining, but it just didn't bring anything new or fresh to the table, so it was essentially just a fairly average addition to the genre.
Directors Justin Harding and Rob Brunner managed to make the movie watchable, just a shame that the contents of the script and storyline was a bit restrictive. The movie suffered from being a bit cluttered and lacking ups and downs to its storyline. The story just trotted out there is a fairly monotonous pace, for better or worse.
The acting in the movie was actually good, and actors Tim Loden, Jonathan Craig and actress Alana Elmer actually carried the movie quite well. Now, "Making Monsters" is not a movie that has a lot of people on the cast list, so there was a bit of extra pressure on the actors and actresses performances, and luckily they rose to the occasion.
For a horror movie then "Making Monsters" just didn't cut it for me, no pun intended. The movie wasn't scary, and it felt like writer Justin Harding was just riding it safe and playing on horses that have been in horror movies before.
I am rating "Making Monsters" a slightly less than mediocre four out of ten stars. It was watchable, but this movie came and went without catching my attention, and it is a movie that will quietly fade into oblivion in my book.

It has solid performances and potential to be something interesting, but it has a monotonous pace. Also, there aren't new elements or a captivating execution of the present formulas on the film, so it is slightly mediocre. This movie is not bad, but it also isn't great.
I watched this last week, and actually chewed my nails during certain hide and seek type scenes. I was all scrunched up on my couch, with my hand over my mouth, thinking girl, don't breathe, he will hear you. Ha Hahahaha
Is this an original story, no, but had some original elements and was just plain CREEPY and Claustrophobic feeling. I thought the acting was pretty good for a low budget movie and the house was pure eye candy for horror movie lovers of monster props. For some reason in certain scenes, that guy reminded me of a Duplass brother. This movie wasn't a splatter fest, used gore when it was vital to the scene, which I appreciate. And if you get in the head space that your one of the characters who played the couple as you watch it, It's actually full on scary if you put yourself in their shoes. The scariest part is that there well may be people out there, for REAL, doing horrific things like this to someone as you sit on your comfy sofa watching this movie. The world is full of SICKOs FOR REAL! :o.
Started off very enjoyable, but the ending was disappointing. They could have done so much with it! And didn't really tie everything up. All in all, well worth a watch, even if just for the gorgeous church converted house!!
