I only watched this sporadically, but my kids went through this series very quickly after Gravity Falls, one of their top three shows. Despite the fantastic dangers, the show over all seemed light-hearted and fun. Luz's total disappearance into a fantasy realm (of her own making?) by following a creature through a door suggests Alice in Wonderland, as does the show's total disregard for the "real world," including her mother, in favor of its creatively imaginative realms. The show also continues the reclamation of the "witch" title in global animation beginning with Kiki's Delivery Service and with many recent examples; in Owl House, what is especially noticeable is how the loner Eda becomes like a substitute mother for Luz: an intergenerational bonding of adolescent and adult witch, both misunderstood by their families.
Yeah It is pretty good. Honestly I didn't enjoy the first few episodes that much because they are a little bit on the cringier side of childish comedy and I feel like the show really hadn't found itself at that point. It does really get better the highlights of the first season being probably the last few and the 2nd season is remarkably better than the first. There are a few misses here and there but %80-90 of the episodes in season two are consistently really good. For most people this would be something you could watch with your kids but it has aspects similar to gravity falls where you could just watch it yourself as an adult and you would be fairly entartained.
Looking for a light-hearted and funny fantasy show? Then The Owl House is likely just what you need. The cast of characters will quickly grow on you, as they are carefully built up with great writing and many emotional moments. The humour is generally great, and most adults will likely have fun watching the show as well. Meanwhile, while the tone of the series is generally light, the stakes rapidly grow during the story, until you are incredibly invested in the outcome.
It is therefore very sad that it appears like the show will be prematurely ended by Disney. Especially in the light of the much poorer quality of recent Star Wars and MCU series. I definitely hope that somehow the show will be continued, since I would love to spend more time with the characters in the Boiling Isles.

The animation is great and the art style is adorable, like Gravity Falls meets Hieronymus Bosch. The setting is imaginative and will definitely appeal to kids who like fantasy, i'm sure a fair few will be wishing they could have adventures on the Boiling Isles themselves. On top of this, the stories are very sweet and there's lots of good humour injected throughout all the episodes!
I think kids will really like this little fantasy romp of a series and honestly, adults will probably be able to appreciate it too, it got plenty of chuckles out of me and it really is easy on the eyes.

HOLY SMOKES this show was I big step for Disney. The story line, and the representation. I almost thought it might keep going until Disney screwed it up and canceled it.
