I had been watching a lot of K-drama and comedy series on Netflix and this one popped up on my recommendation list. I started watching the first episode and while the acting was excellent, the episode was a little slow and I wasn't hooked. That changed rapidly towards the end of the first episode. I ended up binge watching the entire series over a few days, often giving up sleep so I could watch "just a few minutes more". When I was done, I went back and re-watched a couple of episodes. Then I went back and binge watched the entire series a second time. This show is simply that good. I didn't want it to end.
The show follows the lives of the members of local police station as they deal with issues while on duty and in their everyday lives. The stories are very well developed and the acting is excellent. As the show progresses, the characters grow in depth and you find yourself becoming emotionally attached to them and caring about their outcomes. But be warned, there are some gut-wrenching moments in this show and there were several times I was brought to tears.
As other reviewers have stated, this show needs a season 2.

I had seen this on my Netflix suggestions and ignored it, as I get a bit bored with cop shows in general. Then I saw a video on YouTube by a reviewerI rate, recommending it as an undervalued hit, so I took a look for myself. i'm so very glad I did.
Much like "Search WWW", the writers have allowed for the complexity of being a human to show through in the characterisations. No one is simply good or bad (at least of the main focus characters), and everyone is struggling to do the best they can with their individual situations. The acting was consistently strong across the board, and it was a nice commentary about how the public in the media can pile on about something they know very little truth about.
It's a salient reminder for us to always consider the wider implications of any situation we find people like the police in. Yes there are police who choose to make very bad decisions. But most of the time, most police are just trying to do their best to look out for the people in their community. It's easy to forget that when all we hear about are the extremes....
Writing from Canada and this Korean police drama just ticks all the boxes. I have laughed hysterically and even cried and I rarely cry watching films or TV. This series takes you through every emotion without even realising it until an episode is over just how much it affected you. The acting is superb as is the directing and filming. Most of the Korean shows I watch from Netflix are hits for me: a few getting a second viewing regardless of how many episodes there are. There is something about the way Koreans approach movie making that is so fantastic and "Live" is another example of it. I will not give out any spoilers but if you are a fan of a great TV series this is one to watch. I really hope there is another season.
PS: I am not Korean...I am Deaf and will watch anything, from any country, as long as it has closed-captioning. :-)

I was never much a fan of T.V dramas because of waiting until the next episode or season when a story line was not finished. Then I watched "Live" and my whole world was turned, the emotional roller coaster that this series brings to viewers, even an hardcore people, will be brought to tears. The cast did a great job of bringing there characters to life, which you must also commend the directors and producers. I'm not going to ruin it and tell you any spoilers, all I can say is that you really need to watch it, I really hope there's another season in the making. Make sure you stack up on the tissues, because It will make you laugh and will make you cry, believe it when I say it's worth your time.
Every summer, the South Korean television industry puts forth the best and most promising shows and crosses its fingers that the public falls in love. Of course, not every show can be a surefire win; it can often take weeks before a show hits its stride, or they may just lose their momentum and drop off altogether. Luckily, this show is the one that makes the public fall in love more and more after each of its episode.
Instead of the serious, bleak, and depressing atmosphere that recent South Korean police or detective series such as "Signal" or "Secret Forest", "Live" is very refreshing, heart-warming, and realistic. Just as the title shows us, this series does not heavily focus on police corruption or the police force's long, troubled history of misconduct toward the community it exists to serve. Instead, it paints a vivid, detailed picture of the police's daily struggles and how they overcome those day-to-day difficulties to fulfill their missions and somehow make their lives less miserable. These cops have to live their lives right, so they can help others live right. Again, this show does contain very optimistic underlying messages. It is relatable, especially for people who are in their 20s, 30s, and 40s.
Moreover, what makes this show stand out is the acting of its cast, especially that of Bae Jung Woo and Jung Yu Mi, two of the most reliable actors in South Korean movie industry - Chungmunro. The soundtrack is awesome. The camerawork is good, too. All in all, this is one worth-watching show.
