Sue me, I don't like any movies with preachy religious undertones, and especially not overt ones like in this.
I'm sure if you are a christian you'd love it.

While Jamie Bernadette (I Spit on Your Grave - Deja Vu) is usually known as a queen of the horror film scene, in this film, she puts her ability to convey intense personal suffering into her unforgettable character, Mary.
Mary's tribulations bring her to rock bottom and Jamie takes us there with her, each agonizing step, through loss, injury, despair and then finally, hope turned to triumph.
If you are a person who sneers at religion, this story's not for you - Mary's rise out of the ashes is enabled in no small part by her discovery of a faith that renews her and by finding a wise confidant who trains and inspires her to climb out of the darkness she's in, to find a new purpose and triumph against all odds.
"Inspirational" aptly fits this film. It's not necessarily easy to watch at times, Mary's suffering is so terribly real thanks to Bernadette's passionate portrayal.
But in the end, it's deeply satisfying and well worth the time to make the journey vicariously with Mary as she redeems herself, body and spirit.

Jaime Bernadette is the star of this film in absolutely every way. She captures every emotion perfectly. I can't say enough about her performance.
I was not crazy about the writing, but it was better than average. I would have taken a closer look at the dialogue.
The cinematography was very good and the direction was very good.
But, in the end it is Jaime that makes this a 9.

I watch hundreds of indie films every year and I rarely comment on but jamie Bernadette truly carries this film to a new level. The cinematography, performances, locations, and story grab your heart and give Inspiration to anyone that fight daily to overcome the worst obstacles. I can't wait to see more from this fine actor!

If it wasn't for Laura Linn, I wouldn't have seen the movie.
She gave a taste with messages of hope, strength and persistence in her goals.
Thank you Laura Linn, for showing that woman CAN AND MUST be whatever she wants, an angel, a woman, a God, with tattoo or without her acting gave voice and visibility to many people. Congratulations.
After all in the comments above, the stupid ignorance of treating the actress who brings the secret the mystery of the film for being a short-haired angel woman to the furnace? If she needs to go "to the furnace", then, my dear one, you need to go back to the middle ages, because people like you don't contribute to a better world, you spread hatred and pre-concept, you are a primitive!

This was a well written movie that was riveting by great actors, great scenery, and an awesome plot. The movie showed Christianity but was not overly done.

This movie recently aired on a tv channel called "positiv tv", which provides christian-based movies. The Furnace - not to be confused with the 2020 'western' movie - captured my attention nearly the whole time.
Advertised as a movie about a runner, it intrigued me, since I used to love to run until it became too damaging for me. More importantly, I love to watch movies that focus on faith, since I'm working on my faith and want to view movies that support this.
The level of intensity of this movie is high; from almost the start, the emotional impact is high. Our main character suffers several massive losses, and the rest of the movie deals with her grief, anger, and eventual acceptance- signified by her resolve to persevere.
The intensity of the scenery is my favorite; animals and the landscape set a dramatic backdrop. It's the perfect answer to the craving for a movie that will make you feel cozy at home, while also tapping into your inner adrenaline junkie.
The emotions and experiences of the runner herself are felt by the viewer. This actress fully immersed herself to portray the rawness of grief, as well as unbelievable pain.
I loved 'Coffin', for his caring and willingness to put the needs of his friend first, without any unnecessary romantic side stories. I loved Raphaella, who indeed was not playing the part of Christ Himself, but of an angel or entity doing His work.
The main message of the movie is not decidedly feminist, nor is it anti-feminist; it is purely about the strength we gain when we overcome adversity. Man, woman or any other being can relate to the message, and most importantly, that we truly are never alone in our suffering.
