The First Cargo Boy and Pocket Man is a masterfully crafted story that seamlessly weaves sharp political commentary into its engaging narrative. On the surface, it's a quirky, fast-paced adventure filled with memorable characters-Cargo Boy's relentless hustle and Pocket Man's enigmatic presence make for an unforgettable duo. But beneath the humour and action lies a razor-sharp critique of capitalism, labour exploitation, and bureaucratic absurdity.
The way the film uses its absurd premise to highlight real-world issues is nothing short of genius. Cargo Boy's endless toil mirrors the struggles of the working class, while Pocket Man's mysterious influence feels like a biting satire on shadowy power brokers pulling strings behind the scenes.

It's ganna be simple bad acting bad writing bad spacial effects.
KIds are often the weaker elements in movies, but not in this one.
The writing is so bad I had to check to see whether it was actually one of the teenage actors who'd written the movie. No, it's an adult. The dialog is stilted and facile, and the story alternates between weak and cliched.
The acting by the adults is appalling. Just because it's low-budget doesn't mean the acting has to be terrible. (See "Primer".)
And the cinematography and direction are terrible too.
This is a terrible movie - but don't blame the kids.

Poor acting from both adults and kids. Like many others have said the script is not good.
Though I've never been partial for action flicks, I was on the edge of my seat from start to finish. My girlfriend just graduated from film school, and though she'd never heard of/studied this movie, we watched it together and it's become an instant date night classic.
Movies like this remind me why my childhood dream was to be a director... just the captivating plot, the impressive visuals, and the child performances sure to put a sock in the mouth of anyone who's ever said kids are the weakest part of a movie.
And the tension in the classroom scene... titillating!
Highly recommend!
