As the TV world kicks into high gear with Emmys season, streaming platforms are still hard at work to bring the latest in film and television right into your homes. August’s offerings on Hulu and Disney+ include a handful of new movies, family-friendly programming, a lot of “Ice Age” and “John Wick,” and the return of Chris Hemsworth’s quest for immortality. Disney+ has livestreams planned for outdoor adventures and World Princess Week, as well as the animated anthology “Eyes of Wakanda,” set in the “Black Panther” universe; while Hulu will premiere a new season of “King of the Hill” and a two-episode limited series about the wrongfully convicted Amanda Knox.

It’s a weird month on Netflix in February; one that will probably require you to be open-minded about the shows and movies you’re willing to consume on the service.
There are quite a few library TV series arriving this month, for example. If you’re ready to start binge-watching Monk, My Wife and Kids, or acclaimed show Warrior, you’re in luck, as those complete seasons will be available. The Blacklist season 10, Curb Your Enthusiasm season 12, Brooklyn Nine-Nine seasons 1-4, and Young Sheldon season 6 will also be hitting the ‘Flix.
In terms of what’s new, there’s a ton of foreign language content and true crime stuff, but original English language stuff will largely be unscripted fare like Love is Blind, which is back for a new season. There are a few bits and bobs on the way outside of that, though. Netflix’s animated movie Orion and the Dark will debut,...

After debuting in Venice, Society of the Snow has picked up plenty of awards on the international film festival circuit, and it recently made the shortlists in four categories for the 2024 Academy Awards, including best international feature film.

It’s a quiet month on Netflix in January, but the streamer still has some good stuff lined up for the new year, including an interesting documentary about the Centra Tech cryptocurrency scam. Bitconned arrives on the first of the month alongside Netflix’s latest Harlan Coben adaptation, Fool Me Once, which sees an ex-soldier called Maya witness her husband’s murder on a nanny cam. The crime then leads her down a deadly path where she uncovers a deadly conspiracy.
Schitt’s Creek star Daniel Levy will also debut his first film as writer and director with Good Grief on Netflix this month. The movie follows Levy’s character Marc as he does some soul-searching after the death of his husband.

Codi Butts from Floribama Shore shocked many with news of an unexpected relationship in 2021. Despite persistent rumors and fan theories that Floribama stars Codi and Candace Rice were pursuing a romantic relationship, Codi confirmed in May 2021 he was dating fellow South Carolinian Ashton Lee Difiore. Her short-lived connection to the Floribama bachelor has been revealed.
Codi's love life has been tricky to follow since his reality TV debut on Floribama Shore. Due to the onscreen flirting and close friendship between Codi and Candace, MTV audiences were hopeful that the pals would someday evolve beyond the friend zone and explore dating. However, in May 2021, Codi shared photos with Ashton exclaiming how he felt he found someone special in her. The 29-year-old bartender's social media posts were surprising as many took offense to the sudden switch in romantic interests.

The Floribama Shore cast has seen a lot of messiness over the past four seasons of content, and the Jersey Shore successor was canceled before a fifth season was renewed. The Floribama Shore season 4 finale aired in December 2021, and it's apparent that while some cast members have grown, not everyone in the cast is in the best place. Nonetheless, some cast members found healthy relationships, while some are still looking for love.
On the heels of Jersey Shore's success and ahead of the 2018 reboot of the show through Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, Floribama Shore first aired in 2017 to feature a new location of hard-partying singles. The MTV reality show first occurred in the Florida panhandle and featured a cast of eight. Floribama Shore has since updated its location to Florida, Montana, and Arizona as the remaining cast experienced fights, parties, breakups, makeups, and significant life events together.

It was surprising when Floribama Shore star Mattie Lynn Breaux did not return for the fourth and potentially final season of the hit show, and it's time to talk about what she's been doing since season 3 ended. Mattie was memorably introduced to the house last season, as a friend of Gus Smyrnios. However, she quickly entered into a romance with Jeremiah Buoni. Though the housemates supported the romance, Jeremiah devastated Mattie when he said that he didn't want to take their relationship long-distance. Many viewers thought that Mattie would be back for another season.
Mattie joined the show's cast for Floribama Shore season 3. The 31-year-old previously starred in Party Down South on CMT, and appeared in the entire 5 season run of its spin-off show, Party Down South 2. Love is in the air on Netflix in February, from new romcoms like the Reese Witherspoon-starring “Your Place or Mine” to the return of murderous stalker Joe Goldberg in “You” Season 2 part 1.
Penn Badgley has long dispelled any misnomers of his “You” character being a romantic, but Joe himself still believes that’s who he is at his core. After killing his wife and faking his own death, Joe sets off for Europe so he can find Marianne (Tati Gabrielle), the woman he convinced himself he’s in love with before she learned the truth and fled. But breaking old habits has never been easy for old Joe, who quickly gets caught up in a most dubious clique of London high society that has its own struggles with lust, power, and the occasionally fatal crime.

Floribama Shore will not be returning to MTV.
The cabler has announced it will not proceed with the reality series's fifth season.
However, Deadline notes that "the future of the series is being evaluated" by the network.
Whether that means the show could end up at another outlet down the line, we don't know, but for now, the series is over.
Footage was shot at star Nilsa Prowant's wedding last year, which was said to be used in a fifth season.
TMZ reports that the series was set to return to filming earlier this year, but that it had been pushed back to Covid-19.
Now, there's no telling whether that footage will ever see the light of day.
Some of the cast members hinted there was unrest earlier this month when they shared Tweets that seemingly alleged they had yet to be paid by either the network or production company.

So much for “puke, rally, repeat” because the MTV reality series Floribama Shore won’t be returning for a fifth season. According to Deadline, the future of the series is being evaluated. Initially, cast members Aimee Hall, Candace Rice, Jeremiah Buoni, Codi Butts, Nilsa Prowant, Gus Smyrnios, and Kirk Medas lived together in a house on the Florida panhandle, but in recent seasons, due to the coronavirus pandemic, filming relocated to Missoula, Montana and Lake Havasu City, Arizona. The series has been filled with all sorts of drama, and that drama continued off the show on Fear Factor in a grotesque competition against members of Jersey Shore. There will be one person who won’t be too sad about the cancellation of this educational program, and that’s the mayor of Panama City Beach, Mike Thomas who, after the cast moved from Pcb to St. Petersburg, Florida was quoted as...

The action moved to St. Pete Beach, Florida in Season 3, and then to Montana and Lake Havasu for Season 4, which wrapped up in December.

The rest will never be written.
According to Deadline, MTV has officially canceled The Hills: New Beginnings after two low-rated seasons.
The news should come as no surprise when you consider that the show has never been a big ratings performer for the young-skewing cabler.
A reboot of the popular reality series The Hills (2006-10), New Beginnings featured a mix of old and new cast members, but it had one big issue throughout its run:
It was boring.
Reality TV is typically filled with drama, but the drama was watered down.
Had MTV went in a drastically new direction by bringing no one from the original back, the show might have had legs to sustain storylines.
The series was in jeopardy after its first season.
MTV gave it a vote of confidence in the form of a speedy second-season pickup, but filming was delayed several times due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
