Not gonna say much only that my 3yo loves it, especially the music in the beginning- she insists on dancing to it no matter what.
Is a fun cartoon, that's it. Guess you can't please everyone, but theres absolutely nothing bad about this show; some jokes only adults will laugh at as well
I can not review this as a Dad with an adult perspective. This series was not made for us. It is not like the family movie which it is based it is built for the very young who like bright colours and songs who love stories about friendship.
It is episodic, the animation is familiar but it isn't quality, the voices are not the original cast members but you can't really tell. The story isn't progressed from the movie either (similar to the animated short) and I don't think they ever will. The series focuses on the side characters as much as the main, like Cloud Guy, the horse looking one and the guy that farts sparkles.
If I have any real problem - is that my 3 and 6 year old can't binge more than 6 episodes in a row (right now) which means as a father I have already memorised all these episodes which my kids just repeat.

My daughter lives to watch it, in fact she's watching it right now. For me, it can actually be quite entertaining. I think they are doing a great job with it. Basically if your kids like the movie they will like this. And as an adult, I don't mind it myself.
This show is hilarious, light, and fun. All kids shows these days are the same exact thing; bland child hero who saves the day and all the adults are incompetent. Trolls: The Beat Goes On is such a nice breath of fresh air. The humor is good enough for adults to appreciate as well, making it a painless show to have on. This show deserves a second season. I actually just made this IMDb account just so I could leave a review because I was shocked how underrated it was. This show isn't meant to be taken so serious as others have. It's clearly meant to just be fun short stories, and it does it very well. I can't explain how refreshing it is to have a children's show that's actually funny.
*OUTDATED AS OF 2025*
Trolls: The Beat Goes On, a show I used to really like for the upbeat colors and awesome songs. I binged this entire show in around 3 days, and it's not as good as I remember.
The episodes: Most of the episodes range from being a 3-4/10. Most of the episodes have very generic plots, other times they're frustrating to get through because of either something like a character ruining it or some bad jokes. But, whenever this show does something unique with its' episodes, they end up being really good.
For example, my favorite episode is Bringing Up Birdy. This is what all episodes of this show should be like; it is very different from others. The plot is different (kinda meh though) and can be funny when it wants. The main reason why I like it is because of the heart. This episode takes itself seriously the entire time and doesn't change the tone with a bunch of wacky, unneeded gags. It's just telling a good story and is there to convey what it wants.
Most of my least favorites have one major issue: the characters. Cloud Guy is my least favorite, and he is the problem with a lot of the worst episodes from this show (Two's a Cloud, Cloudy With a Chance of Hugs, etc). He is really annoying and can ruin an episode by being in it for just a few seconds (ex: ending of Bye Bye Bunker). The rest of the characters can range from cute to eh. My favorites are Cooper, CJ, Smidge, and Branch.
It might just be my nostalgia talking, but this show's songs are really good. My favorite are Shine Your Light (credits song of seasons 5-8 played in Dark Side of the Lagoon) and Best Day Ever (played in Royal Review). I like upbeat music, he lyrics are cheesy, but the instrumentals are really nice.
It's good for younger kids, but I personally don't know if watching this show's follow up (TrollsTopia) is worth it.

- TriviaSkylar Astin, who replaces Justin Timberlake as the voice of Branch, starred in the first two Notas perfectas (2012) movies with Anna Kendrick who previously voiced Princess Poppy.
- Créditos curiososThe DreamWorks logo is formed by Poppy sitting on Cloud Guy in the sky: she makes the crescent moon with her hair, and then sits on it. She then pulls up the DreamWorks Animation logo up, with Guy Diamond standing on it, who puts glitter on the logo.
