Haters gonna Hate, Potatoes gonna Potate

This show is hilarious! I'm sure it's not for everyone but in my view it's a real loss for those who don't get it. All the characters remind me of people you come across in London, as do the crap Flats rented at horribly high prices, and the awkward and quirky humour is brilliant.

Egg-cellent

Series 3 is by far the best one yet. It's very rare a comedy gets funnier as time goes on but This one has hit the nail on the head. Love love love!!! Haven't laughed so much in ages!

You Either Get It Or You Don't

Give it a go - you will know within a few minutes whether you are going to like the kooky awkward style of comedy or not

Its quite tame and gentle but I really enjoyed it and hope he makes another series

Funniest thing I have ever seen

My boyfriend and I came across this literally by accident when flicking through and we were crying with laughter in the first five minutes

We went back to watch from the beginning and we have not laughed at any other series like we have on this one... Sofie and Al are gems and Stath is so memorable... we have even started speaking like him. You wont regret it.

One of the great British comedies - an instant classic.

I can see why it's divisive, it's very much a 'comedians comedy' - but unlike many other shows that fall under that umbrella, this isn't remotely self-indulgent. Jamie Demetriou is this generations Steve Coogan and, much like Partridge, the priority from the creator/performer is self-evident - first and foremost, be relentlessly funny.

Barely a second passes in this masterpiece without a physical moment, an aside or just something someone does with their eyes to induce absolute fits of rolling laughter. It's certainly more niche than Partridge, but is all the more enjoyable - and original - for it.

Every performance is spot on. There isn't a bum note in any episode, and there is ALWAYS something hilarious happening in every frame, so repeat viewings are a MUST!

If it clicks with you like it did with me? You'll have your new favourite TV show.

A brilliant, completely original comedy - the finest British comedy since Peep Show, and thoroughly deserving of every accolade it's received. I'm just sad it's over.

Genius

Genius show if you are familiar with these kinds of north London characters and dysfunctional small family businesses. It's really about Stath, his family and colleagues not the flats.

Brilliant characterisations and attention to detail of mannerisms, pronounciations, mangled turns of phrase, and class and family dynamics.

Another one to add comedy high street alongside Phoneshop and Job Lot.

Go for it

Starts off good, then great, and ends up being brilliant. Very 90s feel to this comedy that you don't really see on tv anymore. Reminds me of Father Ted I don't know why. Thank god this type of comedy (with no agenda) is still being shown this day and age.

Come on, it's pretty funny-in a cringe kind of way

Stath is so bad that it is funny. He pretty much has no filter and no idea what he's doing and please don't dance ever again

The opening credits actually remind me of greek tv-makes me chuckle(sorry!). Okay, nineties greek tv..

It's really not so bad!

Wow

Great piece of comedy. Ok it's not to everyone taste and some people think it's cheap and tacky humour but it really isn't. You just don't get what the writer is getting at. It's extremely cleverly written and that is why it was recognised for the awards. I really hope JAmie isn't done with this and we get to see some More. Best thing I've seen on British tv in a while.

Good

Created by and starring Jamie Demetriou, Stath Lets Flats follows the extremely awkward Stath, along with his sister Sophie (Natasia Demetriou), and their father at the Michael & Eagle Lettings agency, their struggling family business in London. Over 3 seasons we follow the stumblings of Stath and the other agents, his family and small cast of friends, its quite good and funny. Primarily built on Jamie's awkward, bumbling type comedy if you already like that style you'll love this. Natasia is great, I hadn't even realized she was Jamie's real sister prior to this show. Relatively short at only 18 episodes over 3 seasons (though normal for BBC), the show was funny through its whole run, I'll always look forward to more of the Demetrious' humour, would recommend.

This is not original but it is genius!

Comedy is very devisive and this is definitely one of those comedies that will either really hit the mark or you just won't get it! Slightly mockumentary, awkward and cringy at times this really does make me laugh out loud. Series 1 is good but series 2 steps it up a level. If you don't get this then you're probably in the Mrs browns boys gang, this has a level of intellect about it so won't appeal to some.

One dimensional

It started strong. First four episodes were outrageously hilarious with some nice laugh out loud moments. But after that it slithers down to mediocre. There are no nice things happening in anyone's life. Al is oddly weak minded, and Sophie is severely weird. If none of the episodes end up with a happy note, you can't really call it comedy, innit? This is not dark comedy or sattire like A Doctor's Notebook.

Characters do not redeem themselves ever. I do not want to feel sorry for each of them. Sophie and Al's conversations were downright boring. There are no feel good moments. My Name is Earl also had dim witted odd characters. But they were all lovable and every episode ended with a good note. There are no situation specific comedies after ep 4, rather idiocies of Stath and co.

Neither Stath nor Sophie spoke in Greek at emotional highs or lows. Giving them the Cyprus immigrant angle just does not cut it, if there are no references to it. Acting wise they were all top notch, but the plot is messy and all over the place.

This Won an Award?!

Complete and utter garbage.

How this has got such a high rating on IMDB is beyond me, has the creator paid people to give such high ratings and glowing reviews?

I have seen Stath getting compared to Borat but Stath IMO is a very highly offensive character, a very exaggerated man child, who is either meant to mimic the thickos that have enjoyed and rated this programme or he is meant to be mentally challenged (along with his sister and Cem (series 2, eps 4)).

It was very appropriate this originally aired on Channel 4, the network in the UK that brought us modern day classics, sorry I mean garbage like Friday Night Dinner & Everyone Else Burns.

Comedy Genius

What a funny programme.

Can't believe the unfair reviews slating this comedy.

It's a cross between the office and Ali. G. If you don't like those shows then you may not like this one. I loved both and totally get the comedy.

You either get it or you don't. I feel sad for those that don't.

I have followed Jamie Demitrou and his sister for a few years now. They make absurdist comedy that is consistently brilliant (see 2016 Year Friends). Please ignore people who don't get it and try it for yourself.

Easy to miss hidden treasure

This series is relatively unknown (at least outside the UK) at the moment and therefore easy to miss by the big audience but after I watched the whole first season I can say: they have left me thirsty for more!

Hands down very funny! Very awkward but very funny. It needs to feel uncomfortable, that's the whole point. Some childish elements are there but it gives the series it's own strength. Stath wouldn't be a miserable let agent failing to do his job properly if he wouldn't be so childish would he? What would be the point following someone like that then?

The performance of his sister or Al are incredible. I almost can not believe they are not like this in real life. That it's all acted. The empty look on his sisters face sometimes. Priceless! On this show they know when to stop filling the scene with words and lines and just instead use a lot of awkward silent moments/looks. Pretty good.

Please help me appreciate this

Halfway season 2 and still hoping and hoping for it to get funny. I love the concept and had high hopes. Haven't we all met met completely useless and irritating real estate agents? To me this could have been an Office-like mockumentary. But it just never gets going. Maybe it is because it is so over the top. Or maybe because some characters (like the boring-you-to-death Sophie) are horribly irritating. I read comparisons of Jamie Demetriou with Steve Coogan. Well, not in a hundred years. I also see other reviews that say that season 3 is the best. I'll try to get that far, but can't make any promises.

HILARIOUS!

I really liked the debut of this series, its very British but with a Greek twist which is what makes its points of humour completely unique and unexpected.

Cringe Comedy - few funny moments

I was overall disappointed following what looked like a good concept from the adverts. It would have been better to have created the character in a sketch show (there are some funny moments and potential with main character) rather than drag it out into 6 seamlessly pointless episodes.

The main character Stath and his sister are basically complete imbecile, which the latter is really annoying. I also couldn't help but feel it was very offensive and derogatory towards Greeks!

Best UK comedy since Peep Show

A heartwarming comedy that manages to be funny and retain some bite, Stath comfortably straddles several comedy genres. At times a family comedy, others an immigrant one, and then in parts a workplace comedy, going at it expecting purely one of these has clearly caused other reviewers here some trouble.

Each character is fairly monstrous in their own way, yet somehow for the most part remain likeable, quite a feat of writing. They have all been written with care and rarely drift into full caricature, and most importantly the writing never feels mean-spirited, a welcome change from the trend of the past few years of UK comedy. Take Sophie - a simple-minded character it would be easy to.write as a one-note punchline, as some shows do, but there is none of that here. It helps that her actor and Stath's are real-life siblings, because you can see the genuine love they have for one another come through on screen.

Series 3 was a peak, and felt like a potential finale - Demetriou has openly stated they will at least be taking a break for now and the wedding scene (with the most incredible Rihanna cover in television history) would be as good a place as any to wind things up. I hope not, though, there are definitely legs to this and it might be nice to see the characters finally back in Cyprus, especially Vasos and Stephen.

Marmite

This is the Marmite of shows. Like Marmite, you either love it or can't stand it. And just like someone trying Marmite for the first time, you'll probably want to spit this out too. The people who adore it seem to have formed a cult, flocking to IMDb to give it ridiculously high ratings. These glowing reviews say more about the reviewers than the show itself. It's not that the rest of us "don't get it"-it's just unpalatable, like Marmite. Unless you've been conditioned to like this in real life, having grown up with nothing else, you're unlikely to find anything good about it. Just like Marmite.

Just remember downloading this review says more about you than it does the review.

Brilliantly Crazy

I was looking for something to watch and I often give a show 10 minutes or so and decide if I want to continue. 5 minutes into Stath Let's Flats and I was sold! I binged both seasons in 2 days. Stath is likeable idiot and I just have no idea how the actor can create such an original character, I burst out laughing many times. The whole cast is brilliant. Highly recommended!

Hilarious

The jokes don't stop. The acting is hilarious and every performance benefits the comedy. It's creative to a point of genius. You barely have time to not laugh! At one point I was nearly sick. Couldn't rate this higher.
