Rain follows 12-years-old Ats, whose older brother Rain unexpectedly returns to the family home in a small seaside town to face their authoritarian father Kalju and their mother, a woman on the verge of losing love. A powerful film about love.

This Estonian film centres around a family and there relationships. Beautifully shot and paced with sparing dialog but acting that fills in the spaces with more than words could ever convey. This is Northern European cinema so it's for an audience that is expected to be attentive and patient (not a popcorn movie) and with that in mind sit back and enjoy. I loved it, it moved me and made me remember why I hunt out little gems like these.
