After being in a coma a police officer wakens to a world where nudity is obligatory. But it's not just nudity, total transparency. While the characters are naked the bags they carry, satchels, handbags, backbacks are transparent.
The first episodes have a certain shock value as nothing is censored or hidden, and there is definite humour. It's difficult not to raise a smile at main character's predicament. However, as the story progresses the underlying concept of "You have nothing to fear if you have nothing to hide." sinks in. The phrase has an arguable etymology but is frequently attribute to George Orwell or Joseph Goebbels, Hitler's Minister of Propaganda.
This darker side becomes more obvious as the story progresses. Despite the superficial titilation, and the humour, this series is thought provoking and raises fundamental questions in a deceptively light-hearted way.

Due to being called "nude" I'll focus on that. I've only watched the first 2 episodes and have noticed that this is a total sausage fest. The men are all explicitly nude with close ups on their loins, while the women are all wearing super fury merkins or have strategic clothing or objects covering their private parts. If you see a women naked, she will be at a distance and out of focus, meaning you won't see anything on your 75" tv without a high powered magnifying glass. Given that I maybe watching a heavily censored Australian version where female nudity is taboo, other countries may see something different. The story is a little intriguing and entertaining, it's a pity the graphics are not.
I found it very thought provoking and entertaining. The characters experienced such joy in being naked and being their true self. It's all about being transparent and not hiding behind clothes or artificial barriers. However, at its core it is a comedy and I found much of the show very amusing. I found the dialogue very witty at times and had some interesting twists in language that only the French could pull off well. I found the acting over all sound and several of the actors are able to do the nuances needed to make the situation believable. It's not often that I encounter a TV series that makes me look at different possibilities in life, but this TV series definitely did.
I went into this show and was pleasantly surprised.
What I wanted was to see how a society and city might adjust to nudity being legalized. What I got was a city where nudity was required, by law, something I'd entertained philosophically anyways after 9/11 and how do you prevent terrorist attacks when someone can put a bomb in their shoe?
While the show leaps CLEAR off that edge. it's not about showing pretty bodies like Baywatch, it's about one possibility in how society might adjust to the being naked all the time, combined with the potential recourse and ideals that go along with it.
Sure, the story drags a bit. But it's not intended to be action. It's intended to be exactly what it is - a story about a city that's adjusted to nudity and a man who has not, his struggles, and to some degree - as an audience, how I relate to this dude and a society and how I would feel having to be naked all the time. Something i've fantasized about, but in reality, like this dude, I'm uncomfortable as hell in my own skin so seeing him adjust to it is like my own mind getting to go on the journey with him.
WELL worth it JUST for the perspective of an alternate reality.
HOPEFULLy there is a next season, in which I would LOVE to see how travelers/tourists deal with this and adjust.
