I hate to break it down to you guys but this anime is not entirely dedicated to the gaming culture and gaming competitive like you would expected from the title like Gamers ! but it actually about a group of loveable idiot who love to play game and their funny/misunderstanding daily shenanigans that put any rom-com anime before it into shame. The characters while look and feel generic they actually very refreshing for how much self-aware they are in a cliché situation especially the MC and his best bro Uehara. I love how the misunderstanding trope present in Gamers ! when it take full advantage of the old trope to provide great comedy but at the same time hate it when the anime beat it to death to the point that it make me extremely frustrating to watch
The first half of Gamers! Is a highly intriguing and fun to watch romance anime that does interesting things with it's characters. As a gamer myself I thought it was a great angle to have each character have different reasons for enjoying playing games, but still bond over a love for gaming as a whole. I also appreciated how the romance developed about halfway through rather than being dragged out till the end like most of these shows do. Unfortunately the second half opts to annoy you by having the most egregious example of "miscommunication leads to drama" that I have ever seen. The degree that it is done here leads me to believe that they were going for a comedic effect, but if that the case they grossly overestimated the patience that viewers like myself have for that sort of thing. All that being said I thought it ended well, and I enjoyed the majority of it. Since it is only 12 episodes, I would still recommend it for at least a one time watch, with a warning for the second half.
I got to say that I honestly really enjoyed this show. It was a nice blend of funny and dorky and I smiled my way through all 12 episodes. Though I didn't understand all the references due to my newbie status to gaming, I did find them fun to pick out. The show rides on a bunch of wacky misunderstandings between the five main characters that pretty much lead to everyone thinking someone is cheating on someone. Though it's definitely a plot device to move the story along I did find them decently entertaining. I highly recommend if you enjoy shows like School Rumble.
Gamers! is actually pretty good, despite what other reviewers are claiming. It's categorised as romance, and comedy, so of course it will focuse on both elements the most. Games are more of a background, but at the same time, they do influence story a lot. It's not like they're there just for the sake of being there.
I recommend watching. Give it a chance.

It wasn't that interesting, it's only just a couple of kids who are otakus and are in love with games. Characters just seem pretty dull and unlike able. I found this anime rather boring and not entertaining to watch..
