Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash will lead The Boys prequel series, bringing Soldier Boy and Stormfront back into the mix. As we know, both of these characters were around in the 1940s and 1950s, allowing for a prequel series about the growth of Vought International.

Like The Boys and its spinoff Gen V, the show needs more than two actors to run the series. Now that Vought Rising production is getting ready to start, we get to hear of more joining the cast.

Exclusive: Mason Dye (Stranger Things) and KiKi Layne (The Old Guard 2) are set as series regulars in The Boys‘ upcoming prequel Vought Rising for Prime Video. They join stars Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash as well as other previously announced regulars, Will Hochman, Elizabeth Posey, Jorden Myrie, Nicolò Pasetti, Ricky Staffieri and Brian J. Smith.

Glen Powell may be closing the door on ever joining the ranks of superpowered heroes in the Marvel or DC universes.

In a recent interview with Empire Magazine, the Top Gun: Maverick and Twisters star revealed he's not particularly drawn to roles that involve capes, cosmic powers, or mutant abilities.

“I just don’t identify with people with superpowers for the most part,” Powell explained, discussing what led him to take on the role of Richards in the upcoming remake of The Running Man. “I like the ordinary guy against extraordinary odds. The entire world is hunting this man, trying to kill him. Can he survive? Can he save his family? That’s a great, simple story.”

The series, returning five years after the first film debuted, follows a group of immortals who task themselves with protecting the mortal world from threats while working to keep their long lives as secret as possible for fear of capture and study. The Old Guard 2, the sequel to the Covid-era Netflix streaming hit, continues to waste our time in more ways than one. The action is dull — especially when it involves the actors — and only rises to “acceptable” when the stunt team takes over.

Aptly titled “Sacrifice,” the single is the first to come from the movie’s soundtrack, which was co-scored by Ruth Barrett and Steffen Thum. The composition in question fully leans into the goosebump-inducing powers that only a full orchestra can provide, as rousing strings drive the piece forward with plenty of emotion, and a perfectly placed timpani highlights the theme’s building intensity.

Neon picked up YouTube critic Chris Stuckmann’s debut horror movie Shelby Oaks, and Indiewire reports this weekend that the film will release in theaters on October 3, 2025.

Indiewire’s report also notes that Neon supplied Stuckmann with additional funds to shoot new material after they picked up the movie last year, upping the film’s “gore and violence.”

The outlet details, “The new footage recontextualizes some of the original story, but the name of the game for Stuckmann and Koontz was fleshing out the practical effects.”

Additionally, “Creature actor Derek Mears, famous for playing Jason Voorhees in the 2009 Friday the 13th reboot, joined the cast in an undisclosed role.”

Dominique Thorne made her live-action Marvel Cinematic Universe debut as Riri Williams in 2022's "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" and left us wanting an "Ironheart" series right there and then. What with everything we know about "Ironheart," the show should prove to be worth the wait, too. With executive producer Ryan Coogler (who also directed the first two "Black Panther" movies) fresh off his bloody vampire masterclass "Sinners" and the MCU itself on the upswing following the emotional gut punch of "Thunderbolts*," the hype train of "Ironheart" is drawn by two capable locomotives ... and that's before you take into account the amount of talent attached. 

Series creator Chinaka Hodge was a staff writer on AMC's dystopian sci-fi train thriller "Snowpiercer." Edgar Wright's The Running Man remake, a project he first mentioned on Twitter nearly eight years ago, has finished filming in the UK, with star Glen Powell ctaking to social media to confirm the wrap of principal photography, which started November 4, 2024.

Ed Skrein didn't appear on "Game of Thrones" for long. Filmmaker Barry Jenkins, director of Disney's Mufasa: The Lion King as well as the Oscar-winning Moonlight, will be teaming up with the highly sought-after Glen Powell, star of Twisters and Top Gun: Maverick, for a big-budget science fiction thriller. The project, titled The Natural Order, will be released by Universal, with Jenkins set to direct the picture and Powell set to produce and star.

The Natural Order is an adaptation of an as-yet-unpublished novel by Matt Aldrich, who will co-write the script with Jenkins. Aldrich previously co-wrote Coco for Disney, as well as the drama Spinning Man in 2018. The Natural Order will be his debut novel, which is said to be a high-concept sci-fi thriller about the pursuit of eternal life. More in-depth plot details are being kept under wraps for now.

The film will mark the first production of Powell and Dan Cohen's company Barnstorm, whose first-look deal with Universal began last month.

Even with Robert Pattinson helping his cause, that’s going to be a tough benchmark to surpass. Warner Bros. is projecting a $40-50 million global opening weekend.

The difference this time is director Bong is working with a major studio, Warner Bros., rather than indie distributor Neon, and “Mickey 17” will open wide on 3,400 screens domestically, whereas “Parasite” at its peak only hit 2,000.

Christopher Plummer was the last one to pull this off when he triumphed for Beginners. His nomination was the only one for the Mike Mills film, and he swept the season. At 82, Plummer became the oldest acting winner at the time, a record that has since been broken by Anthony Hopkins, who was 83 when he won Best Actor for 2020's The Father.
