Wow, i wasn't expecting too much from this sequel (don't get me wrong) but damn, its the finest sequel of the series, yeah, for me the original always will be the best, but this one, is good as flcl style. The animation is fine, the songs are fine, and remember a lot of the original, and got the same vibe as the first, if you ask if is worth to watch, YES, if you like the 2000 flcl, you will prob like this one, i really felt a connection between the characters and me, something that progressive didn't make it, and i hope grunge and shoegaze be the same vibe, to keep the fooly cooly essence. If you want to spend some afternoon watching some anime to relax, this one, trust me.
As awful as Progressive was, at least some effort went in. I can't say the same here.
Everything from start to finish is boring and generic, the two worst sins any piece of media can commit. Despite finishing the series yesterday, I can't really give a summary, because nothing memorable enough to stick with me happened.
This, the second FLCL sequel series, is centred on a new main cast; school girl Kana Koumoto and her friends 'Pets', Hijiri and 'Mossan'. They seem to be ordinary characters but this being FLCL they are about to get caught up in extraordinary events. These are presaged by the appearance of pink-haired, Vespa riding Haruhara Haruko and the more 'normal' Tsukata Kanda. Expect more surreal antics as they find themselves struggling to save Japan from mysterious forces.
I enjoyed this series slightly more than 'Progressive' but not as much as the original. The central characters are perhaps the most normal of any FLCL series, many of the things they do could be from any number of school girl led series... that said whenever Haruko appears things tend to get stranger and more fun. The story is solid and, as with previous series, it doesn't outstay its welcome. The animation might not be the best but it fits in with what went before. Overall I'd recommend this to those who enjoyed the previous two series.
These comments are based on watching the series in Japanese with English subtitles.

Kana is a 17 year old who never wants to grow or has a dream. She just wants everything to be the same and never change. However, Haru comes in to change all of that. Meanwhile, the government is trying to get rid of the giant irons which will destroy japan.
The season in my opinion was a lot more enjoyable then progressive plus Kana is a more interesting character then Hidomi.
The animation was a bit of a step down but still watchable.
It still had good lessons to learn from it .
It was pretty good season overall and just as enjoyable as the other two.

FLCL was insane. But there was sense to the insanity. This was a crazy sci-fi fantasy take on male puberty, and that was where a lot of its power was from.
The moment you switch sexes, as this one does, you lose the subtext. This time around, you've got a group of seemingly uncomplicated girls one of whom has something going on (annoyingly, she is so similar to one of the other four that I kept losing track of which was which).
The girls bland adventures made up most of the first episode, and it was all less interesting than the setup for the original. The crazy fighting girl is fun in her brief moments of screentime, but overall, there's just no there there. I just watched the one episode, and see no reason to watch a second.
