FINALLY THEY DECIDED TO TAKE JOSIE BISSET WIG OFF!!!
That's the best part of the movie.
I´ve found this one much more entertaining than the other one.
Grown ups behaving like teenagers is weird; in spite of that, the movie is funny and enjoyable.
The place is beautiful, those mountains!!!
The first movie could have stood on its own. This second one, though, doesn't have as satisfying an ending. Maybe they were already planning the third movie. I don't know.
Still, it's a good, clean movie. Too bad it didn't show Julie and Grace continuing to bond as future stepsisters.
The first 'Wedding March' film was watchable with a lot to like about it (also one of the better 2016 June Weddings films, which mostly were not good that year), though it was a long way from perfect. Am usually not a fan of the Hallmark June Weddings film, tending to find them too more of the same plot wise and too many of them have characters that really don't appeal at all and/or not well acted. Still gave this first sequel a chance as someone who liked the first one enough and who liked a number of Hallmark's 2017 films.
'Wedding March 2: Resorting to Love' is a more than watchable first sequel. It has problems, with a couple being in the first film too, and it's not great, but as far as Hallmark sequels go one can do with far worse than this. As far as the 2017 Hallmark films go, 'Wedding March 2: Resorting to Love' is somewhere in the middle, not as good as films like 'The Birthday Wish' or 'The Perfect Catch' but much better than duds like 'Love at First Glance' and 'At Home in Mitford'.
Lets start with the good first. Josie Bissett and Wagner are very charming leads and always engage in roles that play to their strengths, Wagner is especially good. Emily Tennant brings a lot of heart to the film. The family relationships in general are very honestly and plausibly done and don't feel forced or schmaltzy. There is more spark between Bissett and Wagner here.
Did like the production values too, with the scenery being particularly eye catching. The music is very pleasant on the ears and fits within the film. The script flows well and doesn't come over as cheesy or over-sentimental. The story is light hearted and heartfelt enough and the characters on the whole were ones connecting with. Thank goodness too for Bissett's atrocious wig in the first to not make an appearance here.
Once again though, it very formulaic and doesn't do anything new really with very familiar territory, or at least on the romance angle. Also do miss the sister relationship or least seeing it develop more, that was one of the best things about the first and where most of the heart came from but is missed here.
Do agree that the characters do make some unrealistic decisions that makes them look immature at times, something that is done worse than in the first which did not have this problem. Also that the ending felt very rushed and last minute as well as as predictable and too pat as the predecessor's.
Concluding, decent first sequel but not great. 6/10.

The last-minute undecided wedding planning and decision making was frustratingly unrealistic. There are 5 in the series, so I hope the others are better!
