Fun comedy with asubtle criticism

A comedy with a very subtle criticism. in moments the movie makes you think that an aggressive criticism will come and with the interest of denouncing the inequality of sex , in life and in church as well as the false devotion, but ends up being a critic as with fear, very limited and with that missing of go for the kill to give it a greater impact to the plot.

this film, with low budget and made by students of the ESCAC, in the technical film, is not all bad, there are very well lit scenes, subtle camera movements, in terms of production and post production we can say that the most successful in this film is the montage, there is no doubt that the music helps a lot to a movie and I can say that the film lack in direction power and satire in the denunciations and criticisms of certain current issues, but the music complements that gap a lot.

For those who are fans or followers of Spanish films, or in their case have participated in spain movies ,will enjoy the film.

As for the plot, it is interesting to see a perspective on the issue of equality of genre in religious live and in brotherhoods, without a doubt the locations and festivities of Malaga, Spain give that visual extra that every movie wants plus the gypsy and flamenco sounds.

A pity that worldwide this film does not have the diffusion that should have, instead of just stay at the local market.

A black and sympathetic comedy set in Ronda , Málaga, with amusing situations , silly roles and far-fetched events

The film stars Gloria Muñoz, Manuel Morón , Pepa Aniorte and Carmen Flores, who won the award for best actress at the last Málaga festival. A mature woman (Gloria Muñoz) in a Catholic brotherhood in the south of Spain tries to be president in a world traditionally reserved to men . It takes us to Ronda in the province of Málaga where Carmen, and very devoted to her brotherhood, goes directly to the church to meet the president (Juan Gea) of the Catholic fraternity . When she arrives there, the disappointment that she takes from her is enormous disappointment, as her eternal rival, Ignacio , is chosen President again instead of her . Then Carmen has a altercation with Ignacio , it is only the beginning of endless misfortunes in which things go wrong.

A psychotronic black-comedy , it is so excessive and outrageous that blends amusement and brief drama , as well as a funny script full of dark humor , entertainment , and exciting situations . Packed with scenes of absurd nature , this story is an enjoyable farce, as we follow the ridiculous situations of a mean grandmother and other quirky characters whose destination is dictated by their exaggerated ambition . The main premise about the allegedly deceased Brotherhood President is overspread throughout the movie , but not totally satisfactory , including conventional pitfalls . The narration is so filled with crazy characters , nutty comedy , mixed with twisted incidents and an underlying sense of tragicomedy with plenty of surprises, one can't help but keep watching, much as it is over-the-top in . With more or less successful gags in which, apart from the great Gloria Muñoz who replaced Concha Velasco due to illness , appearing the likable Carmen Flores who suffers from her Torrijas , Juan Gea of Ministerio del Tiempo , Pepa Aniorte of Aguila Roja , Rosario Pardo , Alejandro Albarracín , José Chaves , among others . And it is worth mentioning for Manuel Morón who is superb in his role as Carmen's right-hand man.

Highlights the colorful and brilliant cinematography by Vanesa Sola, shot on location in the wonderful little town of Ronda, Málaga, Andalucía . As well aan evocative and adequate musical score by Javier Rodero , adding some Andalusian sounds . The motion picture was well directed by Marta Díaz de Lope Díaz who shows signs of good work in several scenes, especially at the end of the film. It was her second one and film debut was ¨Los Inocentes¨ and formerly directed Shorts as ¨Los pestiños de mamá¨, ¨Y otro año, perdices¨ . And scheduling plans : ¨Los buenos modales¨. A film full of surprises

This Spanish comedy is full of tragic events...but all is well that ends well. A very enjoyable hour and a half, spent in the magic beauty of South Spain. It is a day before Easter parade, the most important event on the town's calendar, and nothing goes as expected... Highly recommended.
