8/22/17. She's from Long Island, OK? She's a Jewish Princess, OK? Knowing this you can expect some funny stuff without all the melodrama. She covered raunchy without the language. I have never heard of her, but I found her observational humor enjoyable, and her vignettes about being a single woman and navigating dating to be hilarious.
I tried twice to make it through this and found the focus on "millennials" with zero awareness that she is actually talking about gen Z (millennials are 31, not 21...) is so beyond trite and tiring it gave me second hand embarrassment. Maybe be bothered to know what a word means before you center your act around it. Totally understandable that comedy is not there to be accurate but when an oversight is this lazy and ill informed it really takes you out of it and breaks down the perspective that she is a competent observer and story teller. Maybe her other specials have some more solid material.
Alright, well I had never heard about Lynne Koplitz prior to come across the "Hormonal Beast" stand-up comedy show on Netflix. I decided to check it out because I was looking for some laughs and some entertainment.
Right, well she has a couple of good jokes throughout the show, but her setups and deliverance of the punchlines is just not one that appealed much to me. This was because of her sense of humor didn't really match mine all that well. I had a couple of smiles throughout the show, but no laughs.
Not being overly impressed with this particular stand-up comedy show, then I can't really claim to have been tickled in all the right places enough to make me check out any more of her shows, if she have any.

Maybe there is a portion of the population who can not relate to her platform; and I am sorry for those people. But I feel worldly, intellectual and progressive individuals will find this extremely entertaining and realistic. I do think this is a little geared towards women in truth; but can be enjoyed by men as well. I love a strong, forward thinking woman who tells it like it is in the best way possible; Funny.
The show was boring, bordering unpleasant. The jokes are the usual stereotypes.
Comedy in the form of stand up was started by some people who could not sing and dance, but had something to say. Lynne Koplitz does not have anything to say. But she has a lot of time to fill up. So there you have it: stereotypes. Nice. Cute. Useless. There is no critique. Just plopping one after another. She does not fight the stereotype. She IS the stereotype.
