Well, first of all, I only watched first 20 episodes yet. But let's put the history aside for a second, the show is pretty good and they made very fluent, exciting storyline. Costumes, actings are well done. Unlike many Turkish series, it doesn't have many filler scenes (because most of the shows make very long filler scenes in order to fill 120 mins per episode.) The chronology of some events has changed in favor of making a good scenario but in overall, they portrayed that time pretty good and specially Abdulhamid is almost perfectly on point. The low rating for this show might be because of the guys that are watching it in Turkey, most of the people that watches this, comments really ignorantly and they are really disturbing. Show is pretty good tho.

the series is very good according to the story & the actors but it has very low rating because of massive organized low rating by some groups hated the empire ... so cheek the votes , there is more than 2000 voters gave it 1 point no one used points from 2 to 6 then the real voters who actually saw the series will start to appear from 7 to 10 ... i gave it 8 ...

Never seen so good historical tv series about ottoman (Abdulhamid II.) imperium like this. They show how the west and the zionists try to destroy the ottoman imperium and the harmony way of living from inside. The rating from 4,8 i cant understand it at all. I think they did it on purpose to make the people dont watch it.

Unlike Muhtesem Yzuil which deserves a 10 out of 10 rating, this show deserves 1 because it does not treat the events objectively and truly like Muhtesem Yzuil. Plus you see there only Turkish language, how can an English Ambassador Mr. Rotclid and his daughter Schivensz ( who are English people ) speak and talk Turkish when they are alone and when very well they can speak english. Give the rights to every language and people here. In Muhtesem Yzuil there you could see the pope and others speaking Italian and Spanish, here you see only Turkish even though the participants can be of English nationality. This is not a fair series. It deserves a full 0.

it's a big shame that IMDb giving it less than 5 stars most probably by voters who didn't even watch it!

anyway this TV series is one of the best TV series i ever seen, and i have seen most famous big American ones and the silly ones too, PB, Lost, Friends, BB, Grey's anatomy, GOT, penny dreadful and many others!

and this is as strong as the strongest, very interesting full of Drama and history and some action, you finish one episode and you really want to watch the next one badly

As expected, the series is great, acting and drama, however, the rating here in IMDb was expected as well, the underrating for this series refers to the political issues since the series started. I hope all start watching this series, do not judge from the 1st Episode, wait, the action is starting later.

I suggest everyone to watch this TV series to have deeper knowledge about recent history of the world

However, since Ottoman lost the war, history is written extremely misleadingly.

This TV series definitely shows how the true history was.

As a good idiom there is, history is written by the winners. Because of this fact, i extremely suggest you to watch this TV series.

At least this series is historical unlike other Ottoman shows , realistic and historic , I don't know why people give this movie 1 star ? I think they are Armenian's or other betrayals sons who tried to split Ottoman government :) You should watch this there is some little wrong things about the Abdulhamit but not important this series deserves to be watched :)

The score is low because of the perception operation. In one word is an excellent Ottoman history series. Acting is better than the best Turkish series in terms of visual effects. One of the best in the world.This series makes Abdulhamid better known. The series tells about the Ottoman struggle with Europe. It shows us the traitors of the Ottoman Empire.

Best series I have ever seen i recommend it for everyone

One need to just watch an episode to know the rating is fraudulent. Armenians and Greeks preoccupy themselves with what the Turkish Republic is doing. It's laughable. Maybe if they spent less envy time about the Turkish Republic they can fix their destitute countries. The show is well scripted, with lovely period attire,and props.

Bismillah.. this is the best series ever. great story of ottoman caliphate shows a brilliat leader sultan abdulhamid II who was accused and slandered as "red sultan" watch this series and learn the truth about this amazing khalifah.

Finally, I found a series that brings back to us the spirit of hope, especially as it is close to our time not as it is in the Resurrection: Ertugrul.

The representatives performed a wonderful representation above the description and maintained the bounds of historical events even if the mistakes in some, but its advantages covered the disadvantages as: high production, decorations, fashiona and costumes, the performance of actors, dialogues and correction of misconceptions about Muslims and raise their dignity again as advocates of peace and respect in the first place and as never accept humiliation and a courage in wars in the second place.

Do not judge it before watching it please..

What happened back then is happening now. To understand what is happening now we have to look at what happened back then. The acting is perfect. So sad that it did'nt get the rating it deserves.

I don't understand why this TV series has such a bad rating. Maybe because the most of the voters didn't even watch only one episode of the series? I find the series very cool and historically accurate. And the quality is also very nice. especially the music and sound effects. professional actors making the series more enjoyable.

Amazing series, true history, some group of people might not like it but it's worth the watch. It'll tell you how the society is operated by certain organised group of people.

Stop the negative false 1 stars , and grow up kids. Keep ur hate to ur selfs , sultan abdulhamid is the best sultan ever , deal with it and suck it up , and he lost at the end simply cus numbers wins over strength and intelligence .

I am not a TV series watcher (haven't watched one for ages), but this one hooked me up from episode one. A great series teaching history and wisdom. Keep it up, in shaa Allah.

Ratings given to this series is not only unfair, it's ridicolus. Number of people who have given it only one star, tells me it's meant to make paople not watch this great series.

This is a great initiative from Turkey to tell of the last great khalifah of the Ottoman Empire. I have only gone through the first 2 episodes in the first season, however still hooked to the story.

I'm amazed and addictive to the series. Dont look at negative reviews just watch the first episode and you will know this is a good series
