Katamarayudu (2017): Generally remakes of movies are having less buzz now-a-days as development of technology and availability of movies of all languages in torrents and other websites got huge following all over world.So everyone has the chance of watching the popular movies of other languages which are available with subtitles too.But surprisingly Power Star decided to remake Veeram which was released back in 2014 and even got dubbed into Telugu as Veerudokkade.Veeram is a routine commercial film which only worked because of Ajith's tremendous performance.Did Katamarayudu work with Power Star's presence?

Plot:

In a Rayalaseema village, Katamarayudu (Pawan Kalyan) is a sort of good leader to the villagers and he uses violence to settle disputes. He hates of idea of marriage and remains bachelor, while his four brothers have girlfriends. They hatch a plan to make his brother fall in love with Avanthi (Shruti Haasan). He indeed falls for her beauty. The trouble is her father (Nasser) doesn't like any person who indulges in violence. To win the love, Katamarayudu renounces violence but soon he comes to know that revenge-seeking convict (Tarun Arora) is hatching plan to kill Avanthi's father who is retired judge. How Katamarayudu who came to Avanthi's village to win her love becomes savior of their family is told in rest of the movie.

Plus Points:

1)Power Star: Pawan Kalyan is undoubtedly the biggest attraction of Katamarayudu. He perfectly suits the elder brother's character and carries the entire film on his shoulders. Right from Pawan's traditional look to his classy dialogues, the star hero does full justice and impresses in his famous mannerisms.His dances,fights and especially his comedy timing worked and its surely is a treat for his fans.

Minus Points:

Except Pawan Kalyan,Katamarayudu is a totally unnecessary remake.Still I couldn't even guess Why Power star committed for this remake?.

This movie has no novelty in scenes and all the scenes are just a rehash of scenes we have seen earlier in lot of films.It followed the same template of a fight followed by a romantic/emotional scene which was further followed by a mindless comedy and it returns back to another fight.

Comedy by Ajay is far better than Ali.Pawan did good comedy in few scenes than Ali.SO what is the need of Ali in this film?

Rao Ramesh irritated with his lousy Seema accent.Pradeep Rawat and Tarun Arora failed to impress.

Sruthi Hasan has lost her charm and has nothing to perform in this film.

Music is a total letdown.BGM is poor.

So,Katamarayudu is strictly meant for Power Star's die-hard fans.

Watch Katamarayudu if you can accept the fact(i.e it's a remake ,nothing new and astounding )

Pawan kalyan gave one his best performance.Heroine-Totally Unnecessary (her acting is huge letdown) Comedian - same as heroine 4 brothers- they did what they have to and nothing less & nothing extra. Music-below sub par and Background --god!!

basically it's a tale of powerful and ruthless person turns himself into a more kind heart person.

Pawan was ultimate with his violent side and kind portion wasn't up- to the mark

1st half good and 2nd half is a letdown comparatively.

To all the reviewers who say it's a waste and total crap ,congrats you just summed up every other Telugu movie except for message & VFX oriented movies

It's a fact that we don't accept change and still expect something new every time. common what we did with Mahesh 1-N is acceptable and this movie is garbage(irony)

But still we made N-local a huge hit (free-make of (nothing new)) call it excellent and natural star at his peaks.

Accept movies out of caste and other nonsense everything else will fall into place.

To pro-active people who are ready to bombard me with hate : i'm neither a fan of Mahesh nor Pawan.

every hero comes to a point where he realizes change is inevitable(no pun intended) ,NTR & Mahesh got their flavor ,it's time for pawankalyan

Power Star in violent side is outstanding while Anoop music is awesome.

It is a must watch for rural fans.

First of all Pawan Kalyan was good as usual. And that's the only thing which is good about this movie. Shruthi hassan looks so artificial, moving away from natural sense. I believe looking natural is no more the go way.

Direction was worst. Not sure why Pawan Gabe chance to this guy. Its become a trend to pull in great actors into such bad scripts and directions. Something which I saw with Rajnikanth sir.

Wish movie had better flow, direction. It deserves not more than 4/10.

The movie just starts fine. Intro was good. Comedy was OK but could handle it, it was entertaining at least. Then comes the second half. Which completely destroys what ever you thought about the movie earlier. There's only loud sounds of bashing and punching and yeah, the horrendous background score. Despite it being bad, it was copied form the original source, which makes it even more unworthy. Yeah, people just keep flying around and the protagonist's shirt doesn't even get messy. wow. There is no sense of a story neither the logic. Audience were asleep who were sitting in my row of seats. Another sucker punch of a remake which doesn't deliver what it was supposed to except the hero-worship just for the sake of fans who would whistle at anything. If you are a fan, you would enjoy it, if not, sit at home and watch a sitcom for good.
