Change the format

I would like this show a lot better if they did away with the "choosing" between the two hosts plans. Just work on everything! They have lots of money to work with and they usually only do 2-3 areas? I just don't understand why they don't work on the whole house. Is it THAT expensive in Canada? Having said that, I do really enjoy it and they have good camaraderie and are very talented.

IRENERENNY found your episode

The episode you are looking for is season 2 episode 10. The homeowners are Katrina and Jay (yellow door and blue house). I enjoy this show, way less 'dramatic' than property brothers. OR it could be the first episode with Alexus and Tyler gray house)

First Season Was Good

Cute show for the first season. I liked the goofy banter between the guys. Then they added Catherine. Why? There is no real chemistry between her and the guys. If they HAD to add a designer, then at least limit her to the second part of the show and only the interior decor. I really don't get why producers took a good show from season one and ruined it in season two. It did a good job though of showcasing the natural beauty of Vancouver. I do have one question though, what is it with box houses that look like firestations in Vancouver? That's what a lot of the "new build" houses looked like. A boxy fire station.

awesome new reno show

So fun and engaging. Both guys have a really warm, friendly presence. It's great that the dialogue flows naturally and doesn't appear overly scripted, there are similar shows that are tedious in that sense. In my opinion their tastes and style are spot-on, neither too trendy nor too traditional.

I'd recommend this show for anyone who wants to unwind after a long day, or to draw inspiration from their designs and building techniques.

Enjoying reno showa.

I was trying to find a particular episode of the series but I'm not sure what year. The episode I'm looking for has a kind of mid-century look on the house, but I am particularly interested in the front landscape. The front sidewalk had really large rectangular concrete blocks. If anyone can help me find that episode, I would really appreciate the help. Thanks.

Am I being pranked

I honestly feel bad for the buyers in the episode's I've watched. The hosts are maximizing the buyers hefty all in budget but minimizing what percent of the home gets a renovated. Also, no Contingency set aside for unexpected repair/expenses. You can't honestly go into a Reno of a house that's 20, 30, 40 years old or older and not realistically expect there to not be any plumbing, roof, wiring code etc. Issues to come up. You Not much creativity on the renovations, just Blah. Not a fan this far and I usually like all buying/selling/renovating shows.

LOVE This Show

I absolutely love this show and not just because I'm in love with Seb. I enjoy the cheesy banter between Mickey & Seb, plus their renos are amazing. They changed the format in Season 2, but I can live with it. The episode where Seb got his nose painted was beyond adorable. I watched both seasons on HULU and wish there were more! This show made me realize the beauty of Vancouver. With the way things are going in the United States, I may retire there. Highly recommend this show to every home renovation lover!

Fantasrtic transformations

This show demonstrated how a person's home could be transformed with old-fashioned hard work & creative designs. Watching all the episodes always put a smile on my face to see what is possible with hard skilled work & really creative design. I am amazed at how much they achieved with fixer-uppers & I am truly awed at what is possible. Each episode got straight to the construction & design. Details of buying the property were omitted & rightly so. The show really got to the point past the buying process. There were no unnecessarily frivilous scenes.

I'm shocked & disappointed the show no longer airs.

Awesome Show!

This show started a bit raw as you could tell the two (cute!!) hosts we're a bit fresh but they seemed really comfortable a couple of episodes in. I liked the format of connecting with the home owner, giving them choices and the interactions between hosts. The finishes seemed great and brought a completely new feeling to these homes! Not sure what one reviewer was talking about - these guys are renovating older houses so costs are going to add up. It's not just surface work and I think they've done a bathroom reno in every episode?

I LOVE THIS SHOW! But why they add Catherine NOO

So I've been so happy finding this show on HULU I can't stop watching! Love the friends and the choice to choose on plans. Their work is great!!!!! But now I'm on episodes with a lady added #SADFACE its no longer funny and interesting my God.

Are they still in business! I hope so but just them 2... not trying to be mean and I'm a female but this show is too good.

Worst to First ?

I have been able to see a handful of episodes and so far nothing tells me that anyone really gets a good deal on the re-nos. How can you pay a $160.000 for rehabbing only the main floor and touching up on the outside curb appeal?

There was not a single bathroom taken into account,no additional bedrooms, absolutely nothing! There was NO curb appeal to talk about. Mediocre at best. The house looked terribly depressing with an old brick and the front door painted poorly in dull black. The interior lacked the wow factor. Decorating- middle of the road with typical finishes. To me it seems like it is all done on a really tight budget. Where is the money going? $160K is a ton of money!

It wouldn't be my choice to have these guys hired for my house remodel.

Why!? So many questions...

Cheesy, forced dialogue and horrific questionable design choices . . . Every episode of Season 1, had them continuously putting a stove / oven in a newly added peninsula or island - in an open floor plan design!!!!!? Separating the living area and kitchen by a giant, ugly "four sided" vent and a hot burning stove top! So tacky and absolutely useless . . . Makes no sense! And the forced drama of "finding" random issues with the purchased home (which would have been discovered during inspection and closing) . . . Can the two hosts just put down the tools (that they are obviously not using) and just make out already!?

Also, finally towards the end of Season 1, the boys got haircuts and neckshaves! Which really cleaned them up - giving them a more professional look and stature. Knowing how these shows work, wish it wasn't so obvious that 92% of the "new" items, furniture and kitsch, is removed and does not belong to the homeowner once the crew and camera leave. The craptastic paint and caulking jobs . . . Huge, glaring botches and a complete lack of attention to detail. Again, can the hosts just make out . . .

Poor rip-off of Property Brothers

Get the hosts some acting classes.

This show is painful to watch with all the phony dialogue. Episode 'crisis' are predictable.

Terrible acting and show does expensive fixes.

They only seem to work with big budgets and then do the most expensive fixes. I sure wouldn't hire them to work on my home. There is lots of money to do more then 1 or 2 rooms if they didn't do it the most expensive way. Things they do are already planned not last minute changes. Hate the open shots and other shots of them driving illegally?? Come to BC we have terrible drivers. Tried to do a property brother's spin off and it isn't working. Too many He Man jokes that aren't funny. If you are planning to renovate your home avoid this show.

Bait-and-Switch?

The contractors walk through two houses with the buyers, pointing out the many things they can do within the budget to make the house their dream home. Then when the buyers choose one house, based on the vision of the contractors, they find that the contractors can't actually do all they said they could. WTF?

Have salt shaker handy

The show is ok.. however these 2 bumbling hosts are not the experts they claim to be by any means There are things that are flat out wrong and massively wasteful for the ppl getting shafted with the bill And there are idiotic things that is either beyond poor editing or the hosts are even more bumbling idiots

Ie s1e2 the aluminum wiring. Their claims that it MUST be rewired to copper and that alu wiring could start a fire with a snap of his fingers etc This is not true at all Yes alu wiring is not used anymore for good reason and there are safety aspects to dealing with such that dont apply to copper.

However it is not that bad and any qualified electrician should be easily capable of dealing with such to adapt it to any updates needed and done in a perfectly safe manner Its so easy to deal with there is even socket/switch markings explicitly designed for identifying use for alu and copper

This also is another massive red flag of the bad editing or them being idiots since any inspection of the house pre-purchase would have easily found this so it would never be a big bad news shock etc again given the age of the home as well it would automatically be something that would be checked for by default

So enjoy the show but dont rely on the info these 2 bumbling buds present as the truth....

Wow...how did this make it past the pilot?

They showed these people homes with grand ideas, but then pull back and make them choose designs...total false advertising- no wonder this was a Canadian show - it would NEVER last in US...plus the home buyers seems dumber than a Republican in the us...this show actually pissed me off the more I watched it...hope the co-hosts are no longer working like this show.
