Decent attempt at an interesting Australian dramedy. Pretty good acting, directing, score, cinematography overall. The plot is decent except there's three really strange/odd/unnecessary things with Toby (Emma's husband) being from an unspecified and unclear country, Cleo (Emma's daughter) is deliberately dressed up in boy's clothes and has short boy's hair for some reason, so much so that I thought Toby and Emma were stupid naming their son Cleo, and finally, Emma, Toby and Cleo randomly speak another language at times. Three completely pointless things that detract from the core story. Worth a watch, but not overly profound/interesting enough to be worth a re-watch hence 6/10.

Great casting, storylines, characters, back story, direction and acting. Watched it in a day, but wish I'd spaced it out because now it's over.
It could have been a longer series, or with longer episodes, but part of the charm is the unanswered questions. So many threads could have been followed, but in real life we don't get to know everything, so it's kind of fitting. A lot of film tries to be everything, but the deft hand used here is just perfect. Nothing over-, or under-worked.
An unsung character is the house. Filled with a lifetime of objects and memories, good and bad. So comfortable, loved and loved in, it is a believable and charming setting for the family's stories.
