The way they handled things was just all over the place. This loathsome love triangle infested its core amidst everything else. Forcefully pushing it in our throats around every single detour. It got trashier the longer it kept going. The drama was covered with palace politics, as always, but it was impossible to care about anything because they just obsessed over who's in love with whom, overshadowing anything the drama tried to offer. The pacing followed through in that regard-slow moments that dragged on forever for what could have been a quick tale. The drama fell way short of establishing a watchable narrative. It was like biting into a cookie and finding out it's all crumbs.
I was not so sure that I watched this so I had to watch the ending and I realized that I already watched it. There was nothing much scene that strikes me and it lacks in aspects of both romance and action. The characters were ok so I gave it a 7 at least. I also really didn't know who I like to end up with Yoona in this Kdrama but may be the crowned prince is the better choice.
Episode 27. I don't know how I made it that far. This is too heartbreaking. 120 dramas so far and this is the first time that I can't watch because it causes me too much pain. I must say this is very tricky. You are deceived from the beginning as to whom the actual leads are. As i watched further, i realized that the man I was rooting for would be left in pieces at the end of the story. Unable to just wait for this to happen, I did what I never do and checked the ending spoilers. Turns out I was right. I can't stand it. I just can't.
Someone else wrote that this drama made them realise that their heart was made of glass. Well, same here. I'm about to burst into tears right now. I feel distraught, lost and somewhat broken, shattered. They also said that they couldn't watch after checking the spoilers. I think I'll try to keep going, if only because, true enough, that show did replenish my faith in Kdramas. Out of respect and gratitude for this outstanding work, I'll try, although dramas are supposed to be my antidepressants... Beautiful. If you can withstand it.

The King Loves, also known as The King in Love, is a 2017 South Korean historical romance series that left a lasting impression on me. I watched it around 2019 or perhaps between 2020-2021, and I still recall its enchanting theme music and songs, which added a beautifully romantic layer to the story, even if I didn't fully understand the lyrics. The soundtrack really captured the heart of the plot.
The story follows a complex love triangle against a backdrop of courtly intrigue and diplomacy, which added depth to the historical setting. While at times the plot leaned heavily on political maneuvers, the storyline built up to a very emotional ending that was memorable and impactful. Despite the strategic twists and turns, the emotions were intense and heartfelt, and the character arcs were well-developed, making it a must-watch for fans of historical romances.
It's a drama that will resonate with those who enjoy stories of love intertwined with political challenges, and its music amplifies the romantic atmosphere beautifully.

It's the story of a crown prince who falls in love with a women who his best friend is also in love with. What you will love about the show is the acting particularly of the crown prince. It's the cast that stands out in this series. The plot is filled with twists and turns so it will keep you hooked till the end. But what makes this show memorable is the love and friendship between the 3 characters. Unlike other shows where you cannot understand the perspectives of the leads. Here, it helps you understand the reasons of the 3 people. Kind of you will go into their perspectives. So you will not have the usual second lead syndrome because you will love both the male leads and want both of the leads to end up with the same women
So why this show is underrated? Because it will break your heart. Those who watched the show will agree that it's a tragedy.
Another thing is that the friendship between the 3 main characters is so good that it will undermine the romance. Don't worry romance is the there. But you will not feel that spark between the chosen leads. If you come to prefer the second lead. And most of us do.
Lastly, I would say if you love moon lovers you will love this show. It's completely different but it will give you the same feelings. Since I had watched that tragedy I have realised that my heart is made of glass. I couldn't finish it after reading the reviews that spolied the ending. Thankfully they spoiled it otherwise I would have ended up with a wonded heart too.
So should you watch it? Definitely if you can handle tragic endings. Because it is worth it. Also, no other show you have watched intrests you & you wre bored. You can watch this because it will pull your interest back into kdramas. In the end, I would say it's a story of 3 people who cared for each other. If you like such stories you can go for it.
