But while new hardware is exciting and all, it was the gameplay footage of Donkey Kong Bananza that really had people scratching their heads. This isn’t just a case of “Oh, the graphics look different” or “Wow, they actually let Donkey Kong wear pants now,” they didn’t, relax.

No, something about the way the game moved, the way our beloved tie-wearing ape navigated its vibrant world, it felt eerily familiar. Nintendo fans, bless their banana-hoarding hearts, were quick to celebrate the return of Dk in a fully 3D adventure. Announced for release on July 17, 2025, Donkey Kong Bananza marks the character’s first fully 3D platforming adventure since Donkey Kong 64.

However, some players had a sneaking suspicion that they’d played this game before, on a completely different console.

Black Myth: Wukong’s developers are facing some serious backlash at the moment for not taking their recent loss at The Game Awards positively and the CEO of Game Science is being accused of acting like an entitled crybaby.

The biggest awards show for video games, The Game Awards 2024, has just wrapped up, giving many the honor of being recognized for their achievements in the industry over the past twelve months. This year, Tga 2024 gave out 30 awards over a large variety of categories, including Player's Choice and the biggest honor of Game of the Year. Geoff Keighley's annual celebration of gaming is one of the biggest events of the year in the gaming community, with several world premiere announcements and trailers intermixed during the award ceremony.

2024 has been another very good year for video games, with many incredible releases ranging across all genres. Even the nominees for the highly coveted Game of the Year award seem to cover a vast range from Astro Bot's family-friendly platforming, Balatro's roguelike game of cards, and even expansions and remakes such as Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.

The 2024 Game Awards are in the books and a tiny little robot has come out on top of the big awards show.

Hosted by gaming industry star Geoff Keighley out of the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, the event covered 29 competitive categories, including Game of the Year. The Game Awards recognizes excellence in the global video game industry, as selected by a global jury of over 130 media publications and influencer outlets.

The nominees were announced with a global livestream from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.

Viewers can vote now and tune in for the winner announcement at the ceremony, streaming live everywhere from the Peacock Theater on Thursday, December 12.

Voting will end on December 11 at 6:00 p.m. Pt.

Nominations for the 2024 Game Awards, which honor the year’s most innovative, unique and impactful story-driven narratives in the gaming industry, were announced Monday.

Leading the pack is the popular Japanese RPG adventure series Final Fantasy VII Rebirth with a total number of seven nominations. Following the critical success of Rebirth, released earlier this year in February, the third and final game in the Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy is officially in active development. First reported by 4Gamer, the Japanese website revealed that during a recent appearance at the G-con 2024 convention in South Korea, Rebirth producer Yoshinori Kitase and director Naoki Hamaguchi confirmed that Square Enix hashed out the third game’s plot and overall concept, marking the pre-production finalization.

One of the best things about the Power Rangers franchise is how it can explore different genres and settings within the same world, and the show even had its version of Star Wars. From 1993 to 1995, the Power Ranges universe followed the Mighty Morphin team as they went to school and saved the world from Rita Repulsa or Lord Zedd.
